This will be an extended meeting as we will be participating in a fund raiser to benefit the nuns. Our lunch meeting will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Following the meeting we will be shown a presentation of the Mount Saint Joseph Academy. This venue is an excellent opportunity for the ABOT to get into our neighborhood.
Margarita will be sending a friendly reminder notice, please reply to let us know if you are coming.

*Allston Board of Trade would like to express its sincere gratitude to the over 100 volunteers of the Brian J Honan 5K Race:

$200 Reward

The Allston Board Of Trade is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone perpetrating the crime of graffiti, tagging, or defacing private property. Board members expressed their frustration very clearly at our recent meeting. We are unanimously opposed to this illegal activity and are determined to help law enforcement officials eliminate this plague.

Notes from the President
  street car
Above: ABOT President Bob Webber of Model Hardware in a top level discussion with past president Jim Gentile of The Pet Shop
at the ABOT table during the Honan Road Race

The morning of the Honan Road Race was so wet, many people thought the events would be canceled. However, the race went off as scheduled. I was very proud to represent the ABOT with sponsoring the Race and having a table which gave us immeasurable visibilty. My sincere thanks goes to the race committee and those who attended: Shlomo Pinkas, Margarita Montero, Catherine Snedeker, Ann Faldetta, and Bob Pelham. Bill Margolin wore 2 hats representing ABOT and The Kiwanis Club. Jim Gentile stopped by and our own Okja Choi ran the 5K race.

Sincere thanks goes to Jerry Quinn for opening up The Kells and saving everyone from the monsoon. Although the scene in The Kells was quite chaotic, I really feel that our table and our members lent order to the chaos. We had the best spot, gave out candy; we had balloons and we had our Director golf shirts on. I am looking forward to more events that will give us even more visibility.

Sincerely,
Bob Webber
