HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with friends and family! Here are some recipes for turkey day- enjoy!

Pumpkin Bars

Try these for your thanksgiving holiday!
Pumpkin Bars
COMBINE:
2 cups sugar               4 eggs, beaten
1 can pumpkin            1 cup oil
MIX together in a separate bowl, then ADD:
2 cups flour                2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon        1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg           1/2 tsp cloves
3/4 tsp salt

BAKE at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes in jelly roll pan
FROSTING: Beat together
6 oz cream cheese       3/4 stick butter
1 tsp white vanilla        1 TBSP cream
ADD 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar - 1 cup at a time - to consistency.
Frost the bars once cool.

Apple Squares
Substitute the apple pie filling with cherry for a wonderful variation on this recipe!

 

Apple Squares

1 pkg yellow cake mix; reserve 1 cup for the topping

1/2 cup butter, melted                1/4 cup butter, melted

1 egg                                        1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 cans apple/cherry pie filling

 

Grease only the bottom of a 9x13" baking pan. Stir together in the pan the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Spread the pie filling on top of the batter.

Combine the 1 cup reserved cake mix, 1/4 cup melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon- sprinkle over the pie filling.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
