Did you know we have berries?
A large selection of plants for our zone |
It's hard to find berry plants that are hardy for our Northern winters. We've got some excellent choices so you can enjoy delicious, nutritious berries right from your own garden. Here's a taste of our selection: - North Country blueberry: Developed by the University of Minnesota, this blueberry is hardy to -35 below. Each plant produces an average of 2-5 pounds of sweet, tasty fruit.
- Red Latham raspberry: This cold-hardy, disease resistant raspberry is so reliable. The firm, luscious fruit is perfect for jams and jellies, if you don't eat them all on the way back to the house.
- Honeoye strawberry: These strawberries start ripening early mid-season and keep on going. The bright red, firm berries are excellent for eating, keep better than most, and are good for freezing.
That's just a little sample, because we carry more than twenty different kinds including several cold-hardy grapes. If you've never grown berries before, just ask us for advice and we'll help you out.

June 15 Deadline: Beautiful Garden Contest Bring your photos in soon |
We know there are hundreds of beautiful gardens in our area. Show us photos of yours for a chance to win one of three Beier's gift certificates.
Doesn't matter if you've got just one extra special container or an acre of blooming flowers, every one's a contender. Your apple orchard? Great! A spectacular display of fuchias gracing your porch? Excellent! If you're proud of it, or love it, we'd love to see it.
Photos from previous years count, too. Just please don't send photos from other parts of the country, because we already know how gorgeous gardens can be in Florida.
Bring your prints in to the greenhouse, or email them to beiersgreenhouse@beiersgreenhouse.com with "Beautiful Garden Contest" in the subject line.
Keep them coming... We've gotten a few, but we know there are more out there.
