Spotlight on Organic cotton
(Tune in each week for a different product spotlight/sale) This Saturday, 11/22 we will pay particular attention to our Organic cotton items! To encourage you to do the same... we will offer 20% off all retail items from: Mission Playground Tee Shirt Bodega organics Zehn Naturals Maggies (including the sock monkey!) i play Under the Nile Skoon SOS from Texas
This
event will continue throughout the day,,, 10AM to 7PM.
Why do we love organic cotton? It is better for the Earth better for the farm workers better for the garment workers better for you and your family!
This is a picture of Gary Oldham in the organic fields at SOS from Texas. Here is a message from Gary: "As we grow organic cotton t-shirts, we share our land with you, our
customers. SOS organic cotton is "good for man and good for the land"
as these practices improve our environment, create jobs for people in
rural American and keep our family farm and heritage sustainable. SOS
organic cotton products are truly unique and we hope you enjoy the
fruit of our land." from the SOS from Texas web site.
How is Organic Cotton Different From Conventional Cotton?
-Organic Cotton farmers use untreated and nongenetically modified seeds
- Organic Cotton builds strong soil through crop rotation and retains water more efficiently through increased organic matter
-Organic Cotton controls the growth of weeds by hand hoeing rather than using herbicides
-Organic Cotton maintains a balance between
pests and their natural predators through beneficial insects, instead
of using harmful pesticides
-Organic Cotton relies on the seasonal freeze for defoliation rather than using toxic chemicals from the Zehn Naturals web site.

Consignor News We are
reminding you --and asking you to remind your friends-- to please call within the hour that you want to bring consignments to ask if we
are able to take them.
Thank you. :) (This
season we have seen such an increase in consignments that we really
cannot predict how full our back room will be a day or two ahead.) We do answer the telephone starting at 9 AM in the mornings.
603 886 6727 -ask for a business card during your next visit.
more reminders:
1. please do not park in the truck-turn-around,
and please use the back entrance for loading and un-loading only.
Please pull around front to park after unloading consignments.
2. please sort and count your items at home, as our consignment area is
small and gets congested. Additionally, we find that many people are
thinking that we will TAKE 30 items and
so they will bring more than 30 thinking that we will keep looking
until we find 30 items that we think will sell.. The rule is that we
look though not more than 30 items. Please do not bring more than 30 items with you. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation, and thank you for taking the time to read all of the above. We really appreciate it.
