Oak
from Keara's Blog:
"I love
the cult-like following behind these lamps. I get little updates from
Google Alerts everyday about someone writing about the Tupp-a-lamps and
lately that seems like everyday.
The
designer of the lamps, Frank, just dropped off some more the other day
including a new design that we didn't have at Oak before. He also
brought in some cool scarves made from recycled T-shirts which I have
yet to put online.
You can read the full article in the press section of the website.

New Merchandise News
Green to Grow
Green to Grow, in the most fundamental sense, did
not start as an idea for a company. It began with a commitment, as
parents, to the gathering of information that would allow them to provide
the best possible care for their son. What the owners found, and continue to
find in their research, is both appalling and inspiring. Appalling
because humans have created an astounding array of dangers for
ourselves, and especially for our children. Inspiring because there is
deep and widespread commitment to addressing these dangers and to
promoting healthy alternatives.
Creating
a line of bisphenol A free baby bottles was a way of taking direct
action where they saw a need.
DoodleBugsBags
A couple of NH women got to thinking about how they like to use re-useable bags when they shop. They didn't mind using those $1.99 bags and canvas bags for grocery shopping, but decided to create an attractive shopping tote for trips to the Mall or Downtown. The bags are sewn in Nh as well, by Enviro-tote (who also make our Mother & Child tote bags.)
Green Guru Climbing Rope Bracelet
Climbing Ropes have a very interesting story. In some cases, they
are used indoors and outside for long periods of time. Many however,
don't even see the light of day and are only safe to be used for
climbing for a few months. Once a Climbing Rope has endured a few
falls, they are decommissioned from climbing use. This goes for camps,
climbing gyms, beginners and avid climbers.
The problem is, a new rope is good for roughly 35 years, and most are unusable within their first year of life.
This is where Ecologic Designs comes in to repurpose climbing ropes
into fashionable, clean and colorful bracelets. There
are five different sizes, ranging from XS-XL, and a rainbow of color
possibilities. Please join us, and our reclamation partners, in
expanding the life of such a cool and lifestyle-oriented raw material.

Consignmor News
It is wonderful and crazy!!
We have seen a magnificent increase in the number of parents who are interested in recycling their children's clothing. On every consignment day in September there were more consignments than we usually see in two or three days!! We are
reminding you --and asking you to remind your friends-- that it is best if
you call within the hour that you want to bring consignments to ask if we
are able to take them. Thank you. :) We do answer the telephone staring at 9 AM in the mornings.
603 886 6727 -ask for a business card during your next visit.
more reminders:
1. please do not park in the truck-turn-around,
and please use the back entrance for loading and un-loading only.
Please pull around front to park after unloading consignments.
2. please sort and count your items at home, as our consignment area is
small and gets congested. Additionally, we find that many people are
thinking that we will TAKE 30 items and
so they will bring more than 30 thinking that we will keep looking
until we find 30 items that we think will sell.. The rule is that we
look though not more than 30 items. Please do not bring more than 30 items with you
as we will not look at more than the first 30. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation, and thank you for taking the time to read all of the above. We really appreciate it.
