1 World, 2 Wheels -by Andrew Wolfe
The
price of gas being as it is, some clever folks are looking toward
two-wheeled alternatives. Scooters are all right, but you can't do
better than bicycles, which burn nothing but calories (I get about 30
miles per pizza slice, or thereabouts). Paul
Keegan got into bicycling in a big way more than 20 years ago, when he
was invited to join the "Bike for Peace," a 1986 ride in the U.S.S.R.,
Soviet bloc nations and the United States. Keegan worked for many years as a mechanic at Goodales, and now owns 1 World Trading Co. on Main Street, where he's dipping back into the bicycle business with a side project, "Re-Cycles Bicycles." read more...

There are few things more important than family. Our
Mother Earth has cared for us since the very beginning and Father Time
is with us until the very end. Along the way, we share this playground
with our many brothers and sisters. Whether bird, bear or butterfly,
whale, dolphin or squirrel, man, woman or child, we are all in this
together and the sooner we realize this the better off we'll be. Thanks
for being part of the family...
Welcome to Mission Playground.

Consignor News
In July, we accept "back-to-school clothing.' Back-to-school is
actually warm-weather clothing that is nice enough to wear to school,
(eg: polo shorts, oxford shirts, khakis, skirts and capris, ie: what
the children wear in September.) Acceptable shorts will be longer,
better brands and in like-brand-new condition. We do need more: dresses for teens very up-to-date, Summer Maternity clothing very clean high chairs up-to-date and clean pack 'n' plays bed rails baby gates toddler beds exersaucers very clean potty seats very clean booster seats (for at the table) very clean step stools
It
is always a good idea to call ahead, whenever you are bringing
consignments, to be sure we have room for more of whatever you have to
consign.
Can't get here on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday? or Don't want to make a special trip to M&C because of the price of gas?? How about working out a plan with a neighbor or relative in which you take turns bringing in each other's consignments? Just be sure each batch of consignments contains no more than 30 items for the correct season, and each batch is clearly labeled.
As you know, we do not take consignments on Tuesdays or Thursdays. We started this policy almost 2 years ago, when we found that in the Fall and the Spring, we could not keep up with the work involved in taking consignments every day. We found that we could not get to the bottom of the piles, and some batches of consignments sat in buckets for as much as 2 weeks before we were able to "uncover" them, get them processed and onto the sales floor. Please understand that we get asked to make an exception several times every Tuesday and Thursday, so if we made an exception for everyone who asked, Tuesdays and Thursdays would no longer be the "catch up" days that we need to keep things running smoothly and accurately.
Consignors, we ask that you be sure of the following:
1. all items have been freshly and thoroughly cleaned 2. you have not packed more than 30 items 3. you call, on the day you are coming, to confirm that we can take more of what you have to bring. please visit our website to review the consignment policies.
Reminder: We do not take/sell any adult clothing except for maternity clothing. We take only children's (baby to teen) and maternity clothing. If you want us to donate a few articles of off-season, or adult clothing for you, PLEASE PUT THEM IN A SEPARATE BAG AND LABEL THE BAG "FOR DONATION."
