School Resources

This weekend was a wonderful time for our parish as many organizations came together at the May Crowning.  We are so fortunate to have so many people who love and support St. Christopher's parish.  Thank you to the Knights of Columbus, Mrs. Milne, Diane and Hilde from Religious Education, and the many volunteers who helped serve our First Communicants and their families at the Communion Breakfast.

Also another great example of working a working partnership has been the coke machine in the vestibule of the gym. It's been a full school year with the Coke Machine in action.  I'd like to  thank everyone for their support of the machine.  We were able to provide support to our 8th grade in their fundraising activities through the profits of the machine.  I would like to say a special thank you to  Lisa and John Nardella as well as Aida Lugo who have maintained the machine throughout the year, ordering products, loading the machine (sometimes 2-3X/week!) and to  Kyle Cuite who empties, records and manages all the machine's proceeds.

Have a good week

Mrs. Lederer

Virtus Training
Making St. Christopher's School a Safe Ahven for Children
As you have been reading in the bulletin and hearing at the School Board Meeting, all volunteers and paid personnel of the Church must participate in the Virtus Training Program.  This program assists the Church in being a safe haven for children and a messenger for preventing child abuse within the Church and society in general.  If you have not already attended a session, you must do so in order to volunteer in any capacity in the school or parish.

Lawrence FamilyKindergarten Classroom Dedicated
in Memory of Jennie Lawrence
On Friday, May 9th, the Kindergarten classroom was dedicated in memory of Jennie Lawrence. Jennie was a very active parishioner of St. Christopher's for many years. She played an important role in the Rosary Society as well as being instrumental in beginning our school's hot lunch program. She worked in both the Rectory and Convent.

A plaque which was blessed during a prayer service was hung outside the classroom. Many family members shared the day with us

St. ChristopherSt. Christopher's Parochial School was founded in 1925 under the aegis of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Today, under the direction of a dedicated, professional Religious and lay faculty, St. Christopher's continues its tradition of excellence.

Recognizing each student as unique, we strive to develop the whole person through a spiritual, academic, physical and aesthetic education. We employ creative, innovative and practical methods in our teaching. It is our belief that we must prepare our students to be critical-thinkers, responsible, loving, service-oriented citizens in preparation for the years to come and eternity. Thus we strive to fulfill Jesus' command, "to love our neighbor as ourselves".
