Lake Tahoe's Premier Summer Event. In the 38th season of The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, we're pleased to offer you an easy summer escape full of laughter, love, scheming, scandal, and dancing in the aisles. For its 38th season the festival will feature "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" under the direction of Charles Fee, artistic producer. This will be performed July 9 to Aug. 22. 2 block event area from 11am-5pm. TahoeChamber.org, LTVA and El Dorado County are partnering to produce the first ever "Sample the Sierra," a cooperative effort to increase awareness of the region's bounty, heritage, culture and activities through a market-to-table event featuring tastings from the Sierra Nevada's best chefs and restaurants--all created with local produce, and paired with tastings from local wineries and breweries. A regional marketplace will feature products such as, honey, jams, olive oil and soaps . A juried, original art show will feature pottery, painting, photography and handmade crafts by regional artists and artisans. Live entertainment, including music, storytellers, acoustic musicians, and regional presentations and activities will round out the program. Free festival admittance; $10 food only tasting; $20 food and beverage tasting; $5 kids tasting.
