Venture Acceleration Initiative Newsletter
UC Santa Barbara
May / June 2008
Greetings!
I am happy to announce the launch of the new Venture Acceleration Initiative (VAI) newsletter. We intend this newsletter to be a great way to keep our friends and partners updated on the latest developments with VAI as we continue to work with campus entrepreneurs on accelerating new start-up ventures based on the cutting-edge research at UC Santa Barbara. Over the past few months since our official launch in January we have sustained our momentum, increasing the number of ventures engaged, the size and capacity of our team and our level of partnership with the external community.

Start-Up Stories

Help the Venture Acceleration Initiative (VAI) in its quest to map the historical progress of UCSB start-ups

VAI is examining the startup process and the economic impact of ventures founded by UCSB alumni and faculty. By interviewing and surveying a representative sample of the founders of the approximately 200 companies that are linked to UCSB, VAI hopes to gain a framework for identifying and understanding the commercialization process specific to UCSB and to the Santa Barbara region.

If you have founded a company in the Santa Barbara region, or have been a part of a company from its early stages, please share your experience with VAI by filling out a quick and easy Start-Up Survey. Thank you for participating.
