Greetings!

Fall is in the air, the students are back at school and already Abby's Closet is receiving calls from young women asking how they can get a free prom gown. We need your help to ensure every student has a beautiful gown to wear to her prom.  Please read this newsletter, volunteer your time, talent and treasury to help us and spread the word about this organization to family, friends and co-workers.
4th ANNUAL PROM BOUTIQUE:  Apr. 5-6, 2008
Dress Give-Away Event Camille/Liz
Mark your calendar and plan on joining us at the 4th Annual Prom Boutique (dress give-away event).  It will be held Sat.-Sun., April 5-6, 2008 at the Oregon Convention Center.  This event is open to any high school student who needs a free gown for her prom.  Lots of volunteer help is needed, so save these dates.  More details to follow as we get closer to the big event.

Formal Gown Donations Needed
Formal gowns (prom, bridesmaid, special occasion) are needed.  Donations should be clean, in good repair and appropriate for a high school woman.  There is a list of donation drop-off sites on our website.  All donations are tax deductible.

THANK YOU'S
Donations
Thanks to everyone who has made donations to Abby's Closet! We especially want to thank the following companies and individuals for their very generous donations: NIKE, Maunu Printing (we just received a new supply of flyers; let us know if you would like some), Blynda Barnett-graphic designer (Congrats on the birth of Cooper!); and Miller, Nash Attorneys. We especially want to thank the Lake Oswego Women's Club for the very generous $1,000 grant they awarded us to purchase prom gowns and rolling racks and PGE for the $500 donation.  We appreciate it so much!!  Thank you again!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - OUTREACH
Here's How You Can Help
We want to ensure that we connect with every high school within 200 miles of Portland to spread the word about this program. Do you have an hour or two to make some phone calls for us?  Volunteers are needed to call a list of schools to get a contact name for sending/distributing our flyers and information. Please email us and volunteer to help: promgowns@abbyscloset.org
Thank you so much for supporting Abby's Closet.  Please be sure to share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions with us.

Sincerely,

Sally Egland, President
