CIGA Political Action Committee
The upcoming Primary and General Elections in 2012 are going to experience changes that have not been seen in a very long time. California's "Top-Two" Primary election will send the "top two" vote-getters, no matter what party they affiliate with, into the General Election in November. In addition, due to the 2010 Census results, State Assembly and Senate District boundaries have been redrawn along with Congressional and Board of Equalization districts. This is going to be an exciting and hectic election cycle, and California Independent Grocers Association (CIGA) strongly encourages you to contribute to the California Independent Grocers Association Political Action Committee (PAC) ID #990928. There are members of the California State Legislature that just don't get it! The business community in California must get involved in electing business-friendly candidates to the State Legislature. We need to elect individuals who will support the grocery industry's interests, and who will work to defeat legislation that is harmful to us. The easiest way to do that is to contribute to the CIGA PAC. CIGA's PAC was created to allow the independent grocers of California to distribute funds to the appropriate political candidates and elected officials that will promote the interests of the grocery industry. 2012 is going to be an extremely busy and critical year, so it is more important than ever that CIGA PAC be funded early. The CIGA PAC is positioned to provide a unique opportunity to increase our participation in the political process. Today, we are asking for your help. CIGA PAC is funded solely by individual and company contributions. Keep in mind that the more you contribute the more we will be able to help our political candidates. The maximum contribution is $3,900 per election cycle. For your convenience, we have provided the following Contribution Form for your response. The time to get involved is NOW. CIGA PAC thanks you in advance for your generous support. CIGA PAC Contribution Form |
