CIGA's Chairman of the Board Louis Young, Payless Markets, Lockeford and CIGA's Executive Committee Chairman Del Clegg, Cookie Crock Markets, Cambria announce on behalf of the Board of Directors that Sharon Paxton, CIGA Executive Director, has  informed the Board that after serving CIGA for nearly 28 years she will be leaving CIGA.  The effective date will be determined to allow a smooth transition for CIGA.  

"Sharon Paxton has been an effective leader for CIGA with her association management skills; public policy acumen; and a dedication that has earned her not only our deepest thanks and appreciation, but also our friendship.  We will miss her greatly, but we also recognize that no one deserves more, the time to devote to more leisure, travel and other personal challenges that she may want to pursue".

As Sharon said, "it is simply time to move on, to make room for new leadership and new ideas, and to take more time for myself.  I shall always appreciate and value my time with CIGA."

A search committee is in place to consider applications to fill the position.
