Representatives from participating faith groups, businesses and civic associations came out to get the 2008 Undie Sunday / Undie Monday drive to collect brand new underwear for children of all sizes off to a great start. Those joining us at The Avenues Mall heard from Dignity U Wear's Executive Director, Jim Diehl, Development Director, Cindy Sadler and Honorary Chair, Channel 4 Meteorologist, Richard Nunn (aka "Captain Underwear"!). Campaign materials were distributed and the group was entertained by the adorable singing kids from the Community Connections Child Learning Center.

The Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens is asking visitors to "Drop their Drawers" for Undie Sunday Undie Monday on Saturday, February 23^rd. In exchange for a donation of a package of new children's underwear, the Zoo will take $2 off a child's admision ticket.

In addition, we'll have a display table staffed with volunteers at the Zoo all day to encourage Zoo- goers to start a campaign at their place of business, faith group or civic organization. Want to help us out? Contact Cindy at csadler@dignityuwear.org to volunteer for a few hours on the 23^rd. Free admission for volunteers, so you can enjoy the Zoo before or after your shift!

We appreciate the support and participation of the Zoo for the second consecutive year!

For the first time, area Loop Pizza Grill restaurants are joining the Undie Sunday / Undie Monday bandwagon and will serve as drop off sites for donations of brand new underwear. Collection boxes will be prominently displayed at the restaurants.

The Avenues Mall will also have a Collection Box for campaign donations, making it easy for shoppers to pick up a package of children's underwear and drop it off all at the same time!

Please be advised that these collection sites are for individual & family donations only. Faith groups, businesses, schools and civic associations participating in the campaign should plan to turn in their bags of new underwear on Undie Sunday, March 9^th and Undie Monday, March 10^th, at the Dignity U Wear headquarters located at 136 Myrtle Avenue.

Please tell your friends, family, business associates and neighbors to get involved with Undie Sunday Undie Monday. They will have a great time and they'll make such a BIG DIFFERENCE in the lives of children in need throughout Northeast Florida and across the country.

If they don't have groups to get involved, send them to a Loop restaurant or The Avenues Mall to make an individual donation!
