The Waterford Foundation Announces
Nancy Doane to be New Executive Director of the Waterford Foundation
WATERFORD, VIRGINIA, May 25, 2007-- The Waterford Foundation
announced today that Nancy J. Doane will become the new Executive Director of
the Waterford Foundation starting June 18.
"We are absolutely
delighted that Nancy
has accepted this position," said Kathleen Hughes, president of the Foundation.
"She has served on the Board of Directors since 2000 in a variety of positions,
including vice president and as an active member of the Land Use Committee, so
she really knows how the Foundation works. In addition, Nancy has valuable career experience as staff
assistant for Catoctin District Supervisor Sally Kurtz, with The Nature
Conservancy and the federal government. We welcome Nancy with her energy, vision, and
experience, especially as we rebuild the Old School auditorium and renovate the
classroom building in the months ahead."
John J. Kornacki
will step down as executive director at the end of this month. "Though I have
valued my stay here at the foundation, I am first-off, a college teacher," said
Kornacki. The Board of Directors of the Foundation wishes him well as he
returns to George
Washington University
and new academic duties there. "John has helped us a great deal to set
important priorities for our long-term future," Hughes said.
Nancy
Doane will resign from the Loudoun County Planning Commission effective August
1.
