Queen Mama Donna, you are a
gift. You got me through some very choppy waters and helped me to save my own
life. And now here I am wearing a glorious crown! In gratitude,
- Charlene, NM
Consult the Midlife Midwife
The transition from Maiden and Mother to Queen can be a difficult one, fraught with hard lessons and lots of loss. It takes great determination and courage to confront and embrace the changes brought about by the midlife passage.
It can be really helpful during this confusing time to have the inspiration, advice and encouragement of a counselor/coach/mentor - someone who has been there and done that and is ready to help you do the same.
Queen Mama Donna offers upbeat, practical and ceremonial guidance for individual women and groups who want to enjoy the fruits of an enriching, influential, purposeful, passionate, and powerful maturity.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE
QUEEN'S COUNSEL
Ever
since I first introduced The Queen as a helpful archetype for midlife women, I
have received hundreds of requests for detailed instructions on how to become a
Queen.
"Dear
Mama Donna," women would write, "I want to be a Queen, too. How do I access my
power? How can I feel good about myself? How do I change my life? How do I find
magic and spiritual wisdom? How do I know what to do? How do I learn how to
rule?"
The
reality is that I cannot possibly know how anyone else will attain her
Queendom, I only know how I came into mine, and that is largely through
hindsight. The truth, my truth, at least, is that there is no one true truth.
We must each find our own way in this world.
As a
shaman, I teach through example, but not through dictum. I can and do offer
information, exposure, personal experience, encouragement, inspiration,
suggestions and support to my constituents, but I cannot - dare not - pass
judgment or establish rules and laws. It is simply not for me to say.
When you come to me for help and spiritual guidance, I
listen to your concerns and embrace your needs. I pat you on the back, give you
a good, swift kick in the butt, or let you cry on my shoulder, as needed. I can
tell you what I did in such and such situation, how I did it, what I learned
from this or that lesson, but I cannot tell you what you should do. How do I
know what your soul needs?
Only you know what you know. I can, of course, aid you in
reaching into the well of your own deepest wisdom, and help you to hear the
messages from your best inner Selves. And I can offer tools and practices to
help you develop the confidence to follow your own purpose, path, passion and
power.
A woman who I have been working with recently told me that I
had changed her life. "Well, no, of course, I didn't, honey," I assured her.
"You changed your own life." The fact of the matter remains that I could not
give her what was not already hers.

Hail Queens!
Avid moon watcher that I am, I must confess
that I never could recognize the face of the Man in the Moon. How could anyone
conceivably mistake that face; that round, profoundly gentle face, jolly and
eternally indulgent; that unconditionally comforting countenance, for male? The
dark marks, which define Her features, are in reality the bodies of water on Her surface, the Sea of Tranquility, the Ocean of Storms and the Sea of
Fertility. Sounds like a woman to me! My version of the Ma'am in the Moon will
always be Aunt Jemima, the ultimate maternal perfection fantasy figure:
purveyor of affection, protection and pancakes.
Moon,
O Mother Moon, O Mother Moon,
Mother of
living things,
Hear our
voice, O Mother Moon!
O Mother
Moon, O Mother Moon,
Keep away
the spirits of the dead,
Hear our
voice, O Mother Moon,
O Mother
Moon! O Mother Moon! - Gabon Pygmy
Song
Women are inextricably connected to the Moon, to Her rhythms and waves. A woman's blood waxes and wanes with the Moon.
Her urges and juices ebb and flow. And the Moon, as She grows from crescent to
full every month, mimics the pregnant swell of a woman's belly, or a bunny's,
or a dog's.
The Moon as mother is a prevalent, primal
mythological theme. The West African Niger believe that The Great Moon Mother
sends the Moon Bird to Earth to deliver babies. The Baganda of Central Africa
bathe their newborns by the light of the first full moon following birth. In
Ashanti tradition, the Moon Akua'ba, is a fertility figure. Women carry effigies of Her tucked into
their skirts at the small of their backs as an aid to conception and a
guarantee of sturdy children.
Women in Europe did the same. During the
Renaissance, long after the mass acceptance of Christianity, it was understood
that if a woman wanted anything, she should pray not to God, but to the Moon
Mother for succor. Saint Augustine denounced women for dancing "impudently
and filthily all the day long upon the days of the new moon," even as
their Hebrew sisters were scorned for wearing lunar amulets by the biblical
prophets in Isaiah 3:18.
In Italy, even now, engaged in the act of
giving birth, women clutch crescent-shaped charms and pray to Mary, Mother of
God, for help. The Virgin Mary is frequently displayed standing upon a crescent
moon. The Greek, Hera, Demeter, Artemis, Thetis, Phoebe and Selene; the Roman,
Luna, Mana and Diana; Gala or Galata of the Gaelic and Gaulish tribes,
Goddesses all, were associated with the Moon, and, as Her hand maidens, they
aided women in labor.
...I
standing on your crescent, madonna, moon,
Old
woman that never dies, being perpetually
Renewed,
made nothing again, made small again,
Waxing
again, going through it all over again,
I
would lift up my song, bark, howl, bay to you;
I
would say to you, remember me, beloved 3-headed nurse,
I
have swallowed your milk, you wiped me and wrapped me;
Beautiful
motherly monster, watch over me still."
- Constance
Urdang
The Egyptian
hieroglyph, mena, means both Moon and breast. Hathor, the Sky Goddess,
is the Celestial Cow and is depicted as carrying the moon disk between Her
horns. From Her breasts flow the stars and Milky Way. Britain was originally
called Albion after the Milk-White-Moon-Goddess, until, that is, the monk Gilas
succeeded in converting Her into a fictitious male Saint Alban. The European
Continent is named after the goddess, Europa, who was also known as Hera and
Io, the White Moon Cow. Illustration: Hathor, Egyptian Moon Goddess
The first woman of Polynesia was the Moon,
Hina, and each woman thereafter is a wahine, created in Her
image. The Finnish creatrix was known as Luonnotar, Luna the Moon. It was She
who gave forth the great World Egg from which hatched the entire universe. The
Peruvian Moon was Mama Quilla. She, too, bore an
egg.
Mama Ogllo, the Moon Maiden,
along with Her brother, the sun, founded the royal Inca dynasty. The Zuni of
the American Southwest venerate the Moon Our Mother, who is the younger sister
of the sun. To the Apache and the Navaho, She is Changing Woman. The Sioux call
Her The Old Woman Who Never Dies. To the Iroquois, She is the Mother Who
Created the Earth and the Surface People.
The Moon, as Queen of Heaven, reigned in
the Near East: Babylonia, Persia, Syria, Sumeria, Arkadia and Canaan. She From
Whom All Life Issues, was known as Anath, Asherath, Anahita, Qadesh, Lilith,
Ishtar, Inanna and Astarte, which means womb. As Ishtar, She sings, "I the
mother have begotten my people and like the young of the fishes they fill the
seas." In pre-Islamic Arabia, the moon was feminine and Her cult prevailed.
She was Manat, the Moon Mother of Mecca and her shrines are still holy,
although women are constrained from entering them. Another of Her names,
Al-Lat, was altered at the advent of the patriarchy to become Allah. By
Mohammed's order, all religious amulets must be made with silver, Her special
metal. Illustration: Persian
Moon Goddess
The
glow and beauty of the stars
are nothing
near the splendid moon
when in her
roundness she burns silver
about the
world.
- Sappho of
Lesbos
The Moon, the dear Moon - was impaled by an
American flag four decades ago. That proud standard, those bright stars and bold stripes staked into Her surface, artificially erect in a windless atmosphere, standing forever at attention. Lifeless, they lend
mute testimony to the all-time-hands-down most outrageous stud challenge ever.
That is: who could mount her first?
And so, Mother Moon, Moon Maid, Queen of
the Cosmos, Lady Luna, Bella Luna, has now, in this era of global mass media
consciousness, been replaced, far surpassed, by that vastly impressive,
permanently indelible collective image which we share of the Man Walking on the
Moon.
With blessings of lunar illumination,

Earth Attacks Moon
When
I learned of NASA's planned assault on the Moon, I knew I had to say something.
So I wrote the following piece and sent it off to my email list and also to
several web publications.
Of all the
creatures who had yet walked on Earth, the Man-apes were the first to look
steadfastly at the Moon. And though he could not remember it, when he was very
young Moon-Watcher would sometimes reach out and try to touch that ghostly face
rising above the hills. He has never succeeded, and now he was old enough to
understand why. For first, of course, He must find a high enough tree to
climb.
- Arthur C. Clarke 2001 A Space Odyssey
Well, we
Earthling Moon-Watchers built ourselves some really tall trees so that we could
get to the moon. Rocket-propelled trees to carry us through space. Flew us straight to the moon.
And, no
sooner did the Man-apes land there than we set about trashing it. In the short time that we have been visiting our
attendance upon our lone satellite, we have left over twenty tons of debris -
biological, atmospheric and manufactured - on the
surface of our once pristine satellite.
Here are just some of things we left to litter Lady Luna: flags and dedication
plaques from each moon mission, video cameras at the launch sites,
sensitometers, the launch legs for the lunar module,
geologic tools, laser reflecting mirrors, the lunar rovers,
a gold plated extreme ultraviolet telescope, a Tesco super market shopping
cart, several Apollo backpacks, and three golf balls. Bella Luna trashed and
sullied.
As if that wasn't bad enough, we have reached new highs in our lows. At
7:30AM EDT on Friday, October 9, 2009 the Lunar Crater Observation
and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) mission, will fire a Centaur rocket into a
crater at the South Pole of the moon which will act as a "heavy impactor" crashing
into the lunar surface at nearly 6,000 mph (twice as fast as a speeding bullet) sending a debris plume of 300,000 to 350,000 tons of material from the crater floor over 30 miles high. Wernher von Braun Moon Rocket Plans
After
the booster rocket hits the crater, blasting out a hole 90 feet deep, the
shepherd will follow through the plume analyzing
its contents in the hope of finding water. The result of this search will
ultimately determine how realistic a full-time base on moon can be.
After analyzing the plume, the shepherd craft will itself slam into the crater
four minutes later, creating a second hole 60 feet deep.
According to NASA, this crash will be so big that we on Earth may be able
to view the resulting plume of material it ejects with a good amateur
telescope.
The operation will unfold live on the Internet, as well as under the watchful
eyes of dozens of amateur and professional astronomers and orbiting
observatories, including the Hubble Space Telescope. Ring side seats for a
cosmic rape scene, ejaculation and all.
Who

Do you

Royal Outrage on Behalf of
the Moon
There
was a major outpouring of reactions to my article, "Earth Attacks Moon." Women
from everywhere wrote in to share their shock and sadness. I use the word "women"
advisedly. My email list includes several thousand women and men, yet,
amazingly, not one man sent in an opinion or comment. Here is a sample of what
our sister Queens expressed:
My
sentiments exactly. With all the coverage about "bomb the moon," you
are the only one I've heard who has expressed outrage and sadness. Who gave
permission for such an arrogant unilateral attack? Such an action should have
global approval before it is carried out - approval from the poets as well as
the politicians. NASA wants
attention, especially from young people, but what a hideous message that the
only way to get it is to shoot something.
-
Karin, NY
Thank
you for this email. I thought I
was alone in feeling very queasy about this whole mission. The idea of blasting
a hole into the moon was actually upsetting to me. Glad to know someone who
garners respect for nature and is publicly recognized for their work, has
spoken out publicly about this. Thanks again,
-
Donna Marie, CT
I
am so appalled at what is NASA has done to our precious moon. And it
appears that no one knows. I went to You Tube and the video is there,
but I can not play it. Maybe it is being blocked. There have been fewer than 1000 people who viewed the video. Very strange. I
think it is one of the worst decisions made by human kind, among many.
Sending you much love and light,
- Emily, Panama
Oh,
so true, so sad, so sick. I could not believe this when I heard about it. This
arrogance defines "original sin." Try to know the universe, then once
you think you know it, control it, destroy it piece by piece. Haven't had
enough to do messing up, hurting, Mother Earth, now we go after the Moon. Geez.
Hugs
to you Donna.
-
Alice, NY
Couldn't
say it better myself. Stupid humans.
- Lynette,
PA
I
am so shaken over this. Who do we think we are? Do the American elite own the
world? The cosmos? And we were not even allowed to vote on this? As a nation?
As a people? Oh woe is me!
-
Le'ema, CA
I
am heartsick over this, as well, and can hardly believe a decision of this
magnitude would actually be happening. I am going to send your beautiful
writing to my list. Blessings,
- Leilani, HI
What
chutzpah! how dare we?! Imagine if life from another planet did the same thing
to Earth. How would we like it? What would we be feeling right now, and what
would our government be doing?
Sadly,
- Toby, NY
If
there are bases on the moon,
that would be the end of the moon
as we know it. - Laurie Anderson
I
couldn't agree more! When I first learned of this on the news the other day I
burst out crying! My man can't fathom why I am so upset over this. I am beyond
words to explain. My heart aches and I only wish there were something I could
do to prevent this from happening, but I know not what. I feel as though it is
a personal attack against everything woman. It's bad enough the raping/abuse/torture/pollution/disregard
for our own Mother Earth, now they want to exploit our grandmother. I am heart
broken. With sisterly devotion,
-
Leesa, CO
Tell
it, Sistah!
- Jacqueline,
CA
I
do not watch the news but heard the broadcasts on the radio yesterday morning
and all I could do was cry. When we will learn the damage we have caused to our
mother and now we damage our grandmother? I am so sad and heartbroken. I wish all of humanity could feel the pain
and sadness of the earth and our beautiful moon. Maybe then we would show the respect for those who sustain
us.
- Cheryl, NY
I
wish we would just get our act together here on our beloved Earth. I'm not a
Luddite, but our technology and ingenuity could go into some home improvements:
stemming overpopulation, ecological devastation, etc.
-
Carol, CA
I
share your sentiments, and would like to thank you for putting my feelings into
words. I saw the news report the night before the attack and have felt
extremely disturbed ever since - not only because of the wanton violence
inflicted on our own satellite, but also because of the reaction of curiosity
and excitement and lack of concern displayed by the newscasters and those they
interviewed.
After receiving your email I forwarded
it to a shamanic practitioner friend here in upstate New York. She is also very
concerned about weather manipulation and the military's use of the atmosphere
as its own personal playground. She asked me to forward you information that
October 12-19 is Sky Awareness Week. Also, here is a poem she wrote expressing
her own pain regarding the desecration of our atmosphere. Sincerely,
-
Judy, NY
For you, Sky For you, Earth because the Sky belongs to all of us!
because Weather belongs to Earth and Sky look up humans, see what is happening claim the Sky again as teacher, as
lover, as companion and slip it away like velvet from the
martial grasp. - Bonnie Hoag
Thanks
for giving words to my feelings, Donna!
-
Nancy, MA
Thank you for this. This bombing of the moon REALLY offends
me! - Vila, PA
Thank
you SO MUCH, for this. I never knew! And what we are doing now is ridiculous! I
wonder how much money this will cost? We need to take care of what's in our own
backyard before we go exploring. Pointless, at this point, don't you
think? Love the poem! I will pass
this
on. Blessed Be,
-
Suzi, NY
Thank
you for saying this. This bombing of the moon really concerns me too. My
partner, Beth and I have been doing some performance art weddings where we
marry ourselves and other people to the Earth. Taking the earth as a lover.
Maybe we'll treat her better as a lover than a mother. Next year we are
thinking about marrying the Moon. And facilitating others in those vows. A small symbolic gesture, but a
gesture of love never the less. Thanks for your work. Beautifully written
piece.

Annie, CA
I
totally agree with you! Don't you find it interesting that they were unable to
send live pictures?
-
Diane, Ontario, Canada
I
was sickened when I read your email this morning. Of course you know I mean
because of this horrifying and shocking news. I cannot believe that the so
called brilliant scientific minds have nothing better to do than think of
setting off, breaking, exploding into, launching rockets into the surface of
the moon, the very magnificent alter ego of the Mother Earth, which keeps
the two in balance. This is scary stuff. Thinking back over the years of
various cosmic time lines such at the Harmonic Convergence of the late 80's,
Y2K of 2000 and so on; I felt that all these "consciousness rising"
time lines have somehow nudged us forward to higher sharing of being bringing a
more positive outcome than to an Armageddon. Yet there are those in the
scientific world who see nothing wrong in blowing a whole in the moon, that
could somehow or possibly alter magnetic fields between the moon and earth
bring us closer to the reality of the Prophecies of 2012. Am I feeling this
right? Am I blowing this out of
proportion? Sincerely,
-
Carol, CT
Hopefully
the aliens will destroy this rocket before it hits the surface and we'll get
some BS story about a "malfunction."
-
Marcy, NY
Thank
you for this article. I was ashamed of NASA and my country for allowing this
atrocity to happen! What gives us the right to bomb the moon? It doesn't belong
to us. It is a sacred being to me and I am appalled at my country's audacity in
bombing this lovely creature! Shame, Shame, Shame! Anything or anyone who gets within shot of us
should BEWARE! Thanks again for your similar view and drawing attention to this
gross mistake.
-
Suzi, MO
Pathetic.
Humans (man) never cease(s) to amaze me when on their quest for dominance and
control. Thanks for sending this. Love, light and music,
-
Stacie, NY
I
love this and I'm going to repost
this. My brother-in-law works for the company that built this rocket here in
SoCal.

Brava,
Mama Donna! Well said! And tooooo true! How
can the Moon ever forgive us?
-
Amanda, NY
Oh
Donna, I mourn with you. Keep us
in the light.
We
need you.

Thank
you for writing and sending out that e-note about the atrocious rape of Queen
Mother Moon. When I first heard the news, I had a visceral reaction to it. It
felt like rape to me, too, and to think that this all happened when She had
just been in the fullness of Her cycle. Perhaps a subliminal attempt to undo
the fullness of Her power. Thank you for naming it (Front row seats to a cosmic
rape) and for speaking truth to power. Blessings and Peace,
-
Mary, CO
I
am glad you wrote this for I, too, think how the romantic, mysterious Bella Luna
is nothing more than a scientific curiosity to NASA. I pray that She does not
retaliate! Now wouldn't that be something! All lunar blessings,
-
Queen ElanaMarie, NY
My
sweet son Noah, is one of the scientists involved in this moon bombing, and we
have had some amazing discussions. He just calls it a neat physics
experiment...
-
Jane, MA
Isn't
it an atrocity?!
-
Wendy, NH
I
am so glad you posted this. I heard this on the news this morning and thought
"What the HELL are they thinking?" When will they learn? - MoonTwin,
NY
Hmmmm. I am curious about the astrology of
this. Also if there are any famous prophecies about it?
-
Andrea, NY
Hey
there, Momma Moon! I am in complete agreement with you! Thank you for posting
that forward to everyone and for those of us who are praying with heart for the
life and spirit of our only satellite, in honor of our own ocean and personal
tides, sending healing and support and apologies for the brash abusiveness (and
wanton self abusiveness) of our destructive species. Thank you for speaking up
on behalf of the moon, on behalf of all life on Earth.
-
Bluie, PA
Many
prayers have gone up to Grandmother Moon. I went out this A.M. on naked eyes
alert and what I saw was the moon shudder and her aura turn dark. Too bad I
wasn't asked what I thought about the whole thing and given a choice! Gotta
just keep loving.
-
Nancy, NC
Sad
I am, yes and felt the discomfort in my ovaries all week.
For
the Lightworkers this is yet again an opportunity to stay centered within our
hearts and resonate appreciation and love.
Let
us unite for through our ability to focus upon new vision while radiating group
gove, we can and will achieve divine balance around the many blatant attempts
arising to hook us back into fear.
I
have been in prayerful space all morning sending Reiki and love to our beloved
moon. I trust She can and will handle this supported by the Star Beings and a
multitude of other multi dimensional beings.
All
love,
-
April, NY
Thanks
for this - here is what I wrote a client of mine who was disturbed by this too.
Ultimately I feel positive. And one note, I am not a man-basher (having lived
with and loved them all my life) but simply stating facts. All the best to
you and thanks for all your good work.

Dear Tammie,
I'm
right there with you Sister! It's so male/aggressive oriented, isn't it? Like you said: violent, disrespectful
and attempting to destroy emotional nature. Typical of the last 5000 years (or
longer!) I'd say. Did you see the
PBS Series by Ken Burns on the National Parks? As uplifting as it was, it also pointed out the selfish
obstructionism and resistance of a few men (and yes, they were all men).
"Times change people don't" as the old quote says. However, I couldn't
get up in the morning if I chose to focus on the negative. Here's how I've
decided to handle this Earth bombs Moon event: I believe the Moon is fully
capable of handling this strike at physical (with very little atmosphere the
Moon gets hit by meteors all the time anyway, so it's not a rare event) and
metaphysical/etheric levels too, and will heal rapidly. And I also think she is
"taking" this hit now because it is eliciting the very reaction you
felt along with many others (I've gotten several emails on this). So in the
long run, much good will come of it. And I truly do believe that we (humanity)
are at the beginning of major change. I believe there is more feminine,
emotional, nurturing energy streaming into human consciousness now to correct
the imbalances of millennium. Let it be so.
- Melissa
YES! Let it be so. Let us continue to rise in
defense of the Moon and in defense of the Earth. Let us rise in indignation at
all tyranny, exploitation, oppression and violence - domestic as well as
global. We are the voices of mature wise women who speak with the truth of our
experience and the passion of our convictions. A glorious chorus of Queenly
voices who rule by virtue of our virtue. We have the power, but we must be
willing to use it.
Women,
we might as well be dogs baying at the moon as petitioners without the right to
vote! - Susan

Astro Queen
Hypatia of
Alexandria was a brilliant, eloquent and beautiful Hellenized Egyptian
philosopher, astronomer, mathematician, astrologer, and teacher, who was
savagely murdered by Archbishop Cyril and his fanatical Christian mob. Hypatia
was born before her time, and she died before her time.
She
lived during the late 4th, early 5th centuries, a golden age of great learning
and culture in Alexandria. Hypatia was raised by her father, Theon, a
mathematician, philosopher and noted astronomer and astrologer. Theon educated Hypatia, teaching her
mathematics, science, literature, philosophy and the arts. In addition, he had
her participate in a daily routine of vigorous exercise with him. Legend has it
that he was determined that his daughter would develop into the "perfect
human being."
Lovely
Hypatia was sought after, but she never married, choosing instead to pursue her
scholarly endeavors. Hypatia is the earliest woman scientist whose life is well
documented. In addition to her work in the sciences, she was a philosopher and
teacher of pure Pagan Greek philosophy - Platonic and Aristotelian. She was a
lover of wisdom, not of faith or godliness, but of mind and the "Supreme
Good" - those noblest rules of human conduct and happiness.
She
wrote many books on mathematics as well as on astronomy, her favorite subject.
Her greatest invention was the astrolabe. She created it to locate and track
the movement of the stars, which she also noted in detailed tables of her
observations. Sailors used the astrolabe and her navigation tables for the next
1200 years. But Hypatia's love for astronomy was to be her doom. And the fact
that she was a pagan didn't help.
"Heathenism"
didn't sit well with the Christian leaders. St. Cyril of Alexandria, patriarch
of the city, soon made himself known by his violent treatment of Jews,
pagans and heretics. He initiated the destruction of old temples and their
works of art by mob-led priests and monks. And he burned the great college and
library of Alexandria, the last bastions of Greek culture, incinerating more
than 500,000 volumes.
And
here was our Hypatia - A 65-year old Queen of great stature and influence. a
prominent, respected figure with a large and loyal following of students and
disciples. There is no doubt that she would have been seen as a threat to
patriarchal Christianity.
There was a woman in Alexandria named Hypatia . . . who
surpassed all the philosophers of the time . . . They (monks) watch her
returning to her house, pull her out of her carriage, and drag her to the
Caesarean church. They strip her of her clothes and kill her with tiles (oyster
shells or crockery). They tore her body limb from limb and burned the parts in
a place called the 'Cinaron.'
- Ecclesiastical History, book VII
The murder
and dismemberment of the noble Hypatia by mad Christian monks was the death of
philosophy in Alexandria and of the growing recognition of women's dignity.

The Queen's Correspondence
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to The Queen's Chronicles. Please keep your comments coming. And do feel free to make suggestions about content you would like to see. Or anything else, for that matter. It is a joy to connect with you.
Letters In Response To The September 2009 Issue:
I enjoyed this issue. My son Seth,
who is now 45, went to Montessori Preschool at Park Synagogue. Even at that age, Seth was very
organized, systematic and quite methodical (as I used to be). According to his teachers, he was
considered the perfect Montessori-type child. He has done quite well in his work because of these skills.
Maria taught her students to be respectful of others, and they were always
treated with the greatest of respect. That's probably the most important of her methods. Children grew up knowing they
COULD. When I was in college, I
did several reports on Maria. I
always loved researching her and her methods. I'm impressed to know you have a
Master's degree in education. Bet
you were a terrific teacher. Happy "Fall" Birthday.
- Debby, OH
Per usual this is fantastic. I read every word and am extremely
impressed with Queen Wilma's teaching method. I see a book here or a way to get
this method into the mainstream? It is fantastic and you are the bearer of
this wisdom and the model. Can you tell the Queens of Public Education about
it? Write it to the NY TImes? In friendship and fanship,
- Queen Linda, NY
In your Chronicles I learn about all of our mothers and sisters.
Your writing helps me grow.
- Kate, NC
Love your newsletter. You're doing such great things!
I wish much abundance and joy in all you do. Sincerely,
- Pam, CT
I've recently started working at a Western medical center at the
insistence of the medical director who is sure that much of dis-ease has a
spiritual basis. Good for him, I say! What I want you to know is that your book
is the one I recommend more than any other! Midlife women are suffering all
sorts of dis-ease because we don't know how to claim our Queendom. Your book
shows them the way every time. I so appreciate your willingness to do your own
work and then share it with the rest of us - it's working! Much love and
gratitude,
- Susan, MA
Please send your responses to thequeenofmyself@aol.com. Your letters will be printed in the next Queen's Chronicles.

Send
your good news, achievements, accomplishments, successes and
celebrations so that our international circle of sovereign sisters can
send you blessings and accolades. And we are glad to so. It is
a joy and a privilege to share in the fortune of another woman. I
recently heard Oprah say the saddest thing ever - "The hardest thing
about being successful is having someone to be glad for you."
It
takes a centered and confident Queen to break that pattern. There are
60 million thrones out there. One for each of us. There is plenty of
purpose, passion and power for us all. May we use it well!
It
is important that you recognize your progress and take pride in your
accomplishments. Share your achievements with others. Brag a little.
The recognition and support of those around you is nurturing. - Rosemarie Rossetti |

Where the Queens Are
WALES
I have
just started a Queen notebook. My friend Morgan came back from the Goddess
conference in Glastonbury, England and was inspired by a workshop she went to,
held by Queen Mama Donna. The general consensus for some time has been that
women go from Maiden to Mother and then straight to Crone. Donna Henes suggests
that like the four seasons, there are four stages in women's lives and that the
autumn stage could be our Queen time.
The
concept of a midlife Queen led Morgan to start a Queen's group, which is a
collective of nine women taking it in turn to lead sessions. She shared The
Queen of My Self,
which I really like - loads of stuff to write about and practice from there!
Two
nights ago we walked the labyrinth in Hecate's Haven, a venue here in West
Wales, asking ourselves if we were living the life we wanted and if not why
not. In our sharing we progressed from being simply moved by the experience
through tentative speaking and then to relaxed free sharing. It was great.
Next time
we'll be looking at our dreams and any recurring themes that came out of the
last session. This is why I've decided to start a Queen's journal.
Maggie Nichols, Wales
