The weatherman is calling for snow. It's Christmas. Artichoke Community Music needs a miracle!

The hearts at Artichoke are warm. Richard and Jim have literally given Artichoke Music to the Portland community by creating Artichoke COMMUNITY Music, a fledgling non-profit aimed at sustaining and nourishing the musical heart of the folk community. Spend Monday nights this winter singing your heart out!
We
invite you to join Kate & Steve and sign up for our Monday evening Circle Class, a guided
evening of singing and music. Four enjoyable classes will be held on Monday evenings in our
northeast Portland home from 6:30-8:30PM. The Circle Class sessions
are January, February and March. Registration is open now and expected
to fill, so register today if this is something you'd like to do in the new year!
Register for any one session or all three. $50 per monthly session of
4 classes. Limited to 20.

Session I: January (1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26)
Session 2: February (2/2, 2/9, No 2/16 Class, 2/23, 3/2)
Session 3: March (3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30)
This
is a learning circle to develop musicality and to help you make
beautiful music as part of a group under the guidance of Kate Power and
Steve Einhorn. Whether you are an old hand at making music or just
starting out, this class will teach fundamentals that only get more
interesting with practice. Focus will be on musical communion. House band provided by Kate & Steve. Unlike a jam, instruments are optional based on ability to play while singing in a spontaneous interactive context.
You will learn to:
Sing in front of
people, Sing with people, Serve the song, Hear yourself, Listen
musically, Hear musically, Serve the song, Tune in to Music Dynamics,
Take your turn, Lead, Follow, Harmonize, Blend, Balance Singing &
Playing your Instrument, Be in Tune, Be Rhythmic, Follow charts, Use
the Nashville number system, Try musical ideas, Follow arrangements,
Bring songs to life, Play well with others!
