Greetings!
It's time to run down to the RV rental and pick up the motor home with our name on it, park it in front of our house and start packing it for the "Wild Wheeled West" and Cycle Oregon in the Wallowas. Over this next week, Cycle Oregon will take 2000 riders around the rural block of nearly 500 miles for its 21st annual ride through beautiful Oregon. As stage managers, Steve and I have the job of making sure the Cycle Oregon main stage is ready and full of local and headlining entertainment as we host some of Oregon's finest talent for the two-wheeled cowpokes coming in from the ride. There will be community entertainment during the day as the riders roll in and headliners after dinner and announcements on the main stage.
It's a great lineup this year and we thought it would be fun to share what lies ahead with you. If you happen to be living or taking a holiday in Wallowa County, join us for the shows, which are free to the public, and we invite you to take in one of the true wonders of the west, Cycle Oregon!
The Alibis in Elgin on Saturday night, The Bricks in Union on Sunday. Monday night brings Blazing Saddles, the movie, to Baker City. Robbie Laws Quartet on Tuesday in Halfway. A rodeo and Karaoke from Hell with Tres Shannon in Halfway on Wednesday. Thursday is the famous Bike Rodeo opening for the energetic Tony Furtado Band on Wallowa Lake. Friday is the last night on Wallowa Lake with acoustic Marv & Rindy Ross singing into a full Quarterflash close. Finish line on Saturday comes back to Elgin.
This is going to be an amazing week. Thanks for joining us (in body or spirit) and sending cheer and good wishes from wherever you are. Grassroots on wheels in Oregon rocks! We are grateful to be part of the ride and look forward to every mile ahead. - Kate & Steve
