Greetings! Ten years ago, Steve and I tied the knot on Valentine's Day. That celebration marked the beginning of a decade traveling a road full of music, family & community. We are grateful every day for the people who surround us with support and encouragement wherever we go. Each of our children inspire us with hope for the future as they take the reins of their lives and ride. The little grandchildren bring us back to glee as we watch them grow. Friends and strangers urge us on and we continue to open new doors and forge ahead. As citizens of one of the greatest grassroots cities in the country, our 30-year old love affair with Portland continues to deepen and grow. Old dreams & new routines keep the rudder moving our little boat forward. Home. One day to the next urging us on into the songs, art and stories waiting to for us to uncover and share what we find, bringing them to the table when the time is ripe.
It was a dark winter. The rain has stopped. The hummingbirds have returned. The old faithful Christmas cactus resisting its bloom for the first time this winter has suddenly burst into bud with a full head of pink tips reminding us that sacred rhythms spin new flowers from old roots and we turn our faces to the sun...

Cycle Oregon 2008!
Kate Power, Jerry Norquist & Steve Einhorn
Download "Cycle Oregon Lullaby"
The folks at Cycle Oregon asked if we'd do it again and we said yes! Booking and Stage Managers for entertainment for 2000 bicyclists is quite a job and we look forward to the road ahead. The weekend ride (Aug. 1-3) is in Astoria! The weeklong ride is in Wallowa County (Sept 6-13) looping from Elgin, Union, Baker City, Halfway & Wallowa Lake. There are optional rides on each ride so you can go short or long, as you like. The rides are filling up so check out Cycle Oregon and sign up to ride!
If you're not sure if riding is your thing but you want to participate, consider signing up to be a volunteer for Cycle Oregon. This is a GREAT experience and one of the most exciting ways you can volunteer AND see beautiful Oregon while being part of a vital team that really makes it all work. Cycle Oregon relies on volunteers. Be part of something you can be proud of. Terrific people & memories of a lifetime lie ahead!

NYC to Portland ... One more time around!

One of the many highlights of Annie & Marvin's recent visit to Portland was the chance to meet exiting director of Fishtrap and good friend, Rich Wandschneider. Word of Marvin Einhorn's theatrical reading of Henry Beston's "Outermost House" fell on eager ears as this dynamic trio discussed & discovered stories, writers, poets, actors and publishers in common. Steve's parents were game for outings in the VW bus and sported around Portland with Steve & Kate exploring every new thing. Pix! hit a sweet spot. So did the grand and great grandchildren! Good times, great hearts. Maybe it's time go bicoastal...We miss you! Come back soon!
