  • Daily from midnight to 3 am in loading zones approved by the city and the Chief of Police

The DDA also recommended that vendor push carts be allowed as follows:

  • In the pedestrian alley, south off West Nine Mile Road
  • Thursdays only from 8 am to 3 am

Attention Businesses!
FernNet - Learn More About Advertising

"You're in Business - Now What" will be the topic of discussion at the FREE monthly FernNet meeting, organized by the BizDev Committee of the Ferndale DDA. The meeting is scheduled from 9-10 am, Wednesday, April 25 and will be held at Pearle Vision, corner of Woodward & West Nine.

Linda Zublick of C&G Newspapers will discuss how to get the word out about your business and the importance of advertising and how to make a plan. Attendees will have a chance to win a FREE add in the Woodward Talk. Past attendees who bring a friend will have a chance to enter twice!

Coffee & donuts will be served.
Food Truck Rally Happens Thursday, April 26

Street Eats Food Trucks will rally in the ally adjacent to Rust Belt Market on Thursday, April 26 from 4-9 pm.   Seven food trucks will line the lot and Rust Belt Market will be open with tables and seating for outdoor diners.

The last rally,  held in March,  attracted thousands of new visitors to Downtown Ferndale. Many visitors were looking for places to shop -- and did.  Emily Murray of Modern Natural Baby,  reported it as a great night for business.

What to do this Thursday?  Stay open.  Open your doors.  Because this is a special event, you are allowed to set up shop on the sidewalk for the evening.  If you have an employee to spare, send them to the rally to hand out your business card.  You don't have to make a "special" offer but it often helps.

Future Street Eats rallies coming soon are scheduled for:
  • May 17 -- Third Thursday, Bicycle Night
  • June 21 -- Third Thursday, Pimp Your Pot
  • July 19 - Third Thursday, Hangin' in Ferndale
  • August 23

 Prepare

for Change

Downtown employees need to be mindful of vigorous enforcment of the two hour parking limit on Allen & Saratoga, starting May 1.

The increased enforcement is the result of a pilot program to alleviate parking stress for residents of those streets with a Residential Parking Zone designation.

Parking permits are available for purchase at City Hall.
