Parking Changes:
Know & Share
On May 1 the City of Ferndale will initiate a pilot program to alleviate parking stress for downtown neighbors
with the creation of a Restricted Parking Zone on Saratoga from Woodward to Allen and on West Troy from Allen to Farmdale.
The program means
increased enforcement of the two hour parking limit on those streets.
Employers need to share this new situation with employees, many of whom park on those streets for extended hours. Cars without an RPZ permit will now be ticketed.
Many city lots are available for employee parking and rates are significantly reduced with the purchase of a parking pass, available at city hall.
RZP permits will be issued only to documented residents of those streets.
Additional information on this program will soon be available at the city's website as well as downtownferndale.com.
