Dear Friend of Downtown Ferndale,
There are lots of reasons to come Downtown this week and next. Fat Tuesday will be a glorious celebration in Downtown Ferndale, whether you partake in a Taste of Ferndale, benefitting the Ferndale Community Foundation (see article) or track down some delicious paczkis to fill your day (Rosie O'Grady's is having a a paczki eating contest!).
On Thursday, March 10 the Business Development Committee of the Fernale DDA once again hosts IGNITE -- a FREE and informative meet up for new & established business entrepreneurs. See details below.
Next week, Downtown Ferndale revs up for everything "Irish." Check out Downtown Ferndale  on March 14 and get in our special St. Paddy's Day contest. It's going to be super easy AND there could be some special "green" in it for you.

Downtown Ferndale Recognized, Again!
Every year Main Street Oakland County acknowledges the success stories of its downtowns at an annual awards ceremony. This year, Downtown Ferndale once again was a shining example of hard work paying off, earning 7 awards across a variety of catogories at the March 4 "Main Event. "
And the "oustanding" winners were:
- Main Street Business of the Year - Dino's Restaurant & Lounge/Dean Bach.
- Public/Private Partnership - Pedestrian Alley with the Ferndale DDA/City of Ferndale/Foley & Mansfield & the MEDC.
- Public Improvement Project - Pedestrian Alley/Ferndale DDA Design Committee.
- New Construction Project - Lofts on 9, Bob Wolfson
- Downtown Investment - Rosie O'Grady's & Brian Kramer.
- Preservation Success Story - Foley & Mansfield.
- Special Achievement - The Ferndale DDA, winner of the 2010 Great America Main Street Award.

Show your support for your community & have a good time, all at the same time. This ideal combo happens Fat Tuesday at a Taste of Ferndale from 6 - 9 pm March 8 at Via Nove. Tickets at $30 are available at the door. Cash bar, silent auction and "tastes" from a dozen or more Ferndale restaurants are all part of the festivities. Delicious!
