If you are anything like us, the topic of healthier living always seems to come up this time of year. Something like, "after the holidays I'm going to start eating healthier...again!" Well, the Better Living Show is going to help with our newest feature, The Wellness Pavilion, for access to both preventative health and alternative medicine experts.
We're also very happy to offer free recycling for many household items at the show again in 2012. More on who is making this possible below. |

In an ever-changing world of nutritional studies, how do you know you are reaching your full daily intake? Each day of the show, The Portland Clinic, Oregon's oldest multi-specialty clinic, and its nutritional staff, will walk guests through a visual exhibit of today's take on the traditional food pyramid, dispelling beliefs about food groups and their daily requirements. Remember the food pyramids of yore? Well say hello to the new rules of healthy eating! The Clinic's staff will be on-hand to answer questions and offer recipes and quick tips for squeezing in a few extra vegetables, fruits or ounces of water. |

East meets West
New for 2012, Natural Awakenings Magazine and The Portland Clinic are sponsoring The Wellness Pavilion.
The Wellness Pavilion will be filled with experts dedicated to helping people uplift their lives. Guests will learn how to balance Western and Eastern medicine to get the most out of health resources and expert opinions.
More and more, traditional physicians and specialists are working hand in hand with Naturopaths, Chiropractors and Nutritionists to ensure the total health of their patients.
Practitioners in accupunture, massage, herbs, supplements, yoga and dentistry will guide attendees through the many natural options available to improve their health.
The Portland Clinic's staff will be taking guests on an interactive tour of the new food pyramid and introduce them to the new rules of healthy eating! What does the new food pyramid look like?

Recycling Plaza returns thanks to Schnitzer Steel!
Schnitzer Steel is sponsoring the Recycling Plaza at the 2012 show, which means you can clear out the clutter from your life. All items will be collected for free!
Schnitzer will have friendly staff on site all weekend long to accept your scrap metal. A check for the total value of all scrap collected during the Better Living Show will be donated to Oregon Food Bank, making the impact of this recycling event even more powerful.
Other items you can bring to the Recycling Plaza:
-Household goods for Community Warehouse.
-Used printer ink and copier ink cartridges
