Top Century Club Posts of the Year When you get the chance to kick back and take some time for yourself this holiday, here's this years top Century Club posts. With summer right on top of us now it's hard to imagine we're already half way through our 100 years in business celebration, but we are. I've also included in this email a quick preview of everything we offer here at Dominion Blue, just in case you didn't know. Enjoy.

The Marine Building
On the architectural front; The Marine Building was hands down the most popular post, and there's good reason.
Back in 1929 it was built in just 16 months from start to finish, possibly a Vancouver record for this size of building. Then there's the mystery and pull of its art deco design reminding us of an era of decadence and luxury. Either way it's fascinating to the point that it keeps bringing us back, plus an interesting read. Click Here for more.

Fashion from The Sixties
The interest in this top post was mostly by men, I guess that's not news but it certainly is a common trend that can't be ignored. It's interesting too, how fashion has again drawn on the past to dream up some of its latest. Click Here for more, or view Google images.

Vancouver Block
This 1912 addition to Vancouver's new architecture was another impressive example of the city's new wealthy and how they cast their shadow on the city's skyline. It was also our second most popular architectural post so far.
I'm not surprised that many of these structures remain today, because there glory at the time was simply unsurpassed. Even back then we were aiming high and seeking the attention of the world. Click Here for more. |
50 Worst CarsYes, its the top post, but here's the catch, women viewed it twice as much as men. What's most interesting is how the total quality approach of W. Edwards Deming was ignored by the top players in the industry whereas Japan, because of their poor production quality in the 1950s, embraced his ideas immediately. View the 50 worst cars of all time.
