    start smart

Registration is underway for the 3rd Annual PA Youth Sports Summit sponsored by the PA Recreation & Park Society, PA DCNR, Ready Set Go Sports in PA and the PA Youth Sports Task Force!

Join us on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Willow Valley Resort & Conference Center in Lancaster. Be mesmerized, engaged and motivated by our keynote speaker, Mr. Pat Williams, Senior VP for the Orlando Magic. Pat, who hails originally from Delaware, started his sports career with the Philadelphia Phillies and eventually worked for the Philadelphia 76'ers and was part of their 1983 Championship Season. Through his lifelong dedication to sports and youth (Pat and his wife have 19 children!) Pat has gained some invaluable tips and tricks to being a winner at everything you do -- he is truly a role model for all of us!

If you are a PRPS member, the entire summit is only $49 per person! That includes lunch, Ceu's, breakout sessions, and hearing Pat Williams as the keynote. Consider sending your youth sports administrators as well as your key staff. This is a great opportunity to get great training, networking and be refreshed as you start the new year! As a reminder, anyone who will require lodging should reserve their room directly with Willow Valley. Just mention that you are with the PA Recreation & Park Society Summit and you will get our group rate!

    From Kim Woodward, Training Coordinator

Here's another reason to consider targeted marketing to reduce the number of unnecessary brochures you print and wasted mailings you send. Each year, 19 billion catalogs are mailed to American consumers. That's 63 for every man, woman and child in America. To produce these catalogs, tons of paper are required, which translates into 53 million trees. Go green, go targeted, save money, save trees. Marketing Recreation, Vol. 20, No.4
