Celebrate Earth Day and "Recycle It @ Cartridge World"

|
Since 1970, April 22nd has stood as a day for American's to remind one another of the fragile nature of our planet. To take pause and re-consider the environmental impact of our lifestyle decisions was the goal of Senator Gaylord Nelson when he initially began considering the concept in 1962. Now for nearly half a century, Earth Day has become a staple in educational institutions, offices, homes, and of course here at Cartridge World!
Cartridge World once again stands proud this spring as one of the world's top recyclers of printer cartridges. This year we'd like to step up to do even more as part of our "Recycle It @ Cartridge World" campaign! Not only can you recycle and refill your ink and laser cartridges as usual, but now through April 30th you can also recycle your old cell phones and mobile devices at Cartridge World San Diego!
In special recognition of Earth Day 2009, printer cartridges and cell phones collected through the "Recycle It @ Cartridge World" program will be turned into cash and donated to the San Diego county school of your choice*. We also pledge a "zero landfill" policy for each cartridge and cell phone! This program serves to reinforce our commitment to the community while helping to educate customers young and old about the benefits of recycling.
(*Some conditions apply. Please contact us for full details.)

Spring E-Waste Clean-up

|
Spring has long been a great time to clean the house and office. This year, however, we'd like to encourage you to not only crack open the windows for some fresh air, vaccuum under the couch, and clean out the garage. Take a moment this spring to properly dispose of E-Waste collecting in your home or office.
E-Waste is anything with electronic components you're no longer using. In most cases, they're still laying around your house because most people don't know how to properly dispose of these items. Examples of E-Waste include old printers, computers, stereos, air conditioners, phones, keyboards, etc. Even if it works, it's still E-Waste! In fact, many of these items include harmful materials such as lead, mercury, and even gold, meaning they can't simply go into your normal garbage. So, how do you get rid of all this stuff?
- Ask us! We may be able to recycle it for you or at least point you in the right direction.
- Call your local landfill. For a small charge, most landfills can take these items and properly dispose of them.
- Search the web for E-Waste collection days in your area. Many communities and non-profits hold these events as fundraisers!
- Find a "used electronics" store or warehouse in your area. These places will usually take everything, sometimes at no cost, and recycle what they can't use.
Do your homework before choosing an E-Waste recycler and ask about any possible "zero landfill" policies. Make sure they're not just throwing your stuff in their trashcan and recycle with confidence!

STOP! Before you buy your new printer...

|
Making a decision on what printer to buy is much more than simply "what's on sale" or "that's the brand I had before." The printer industry is constantly changing with new features, advantages, and technology. Combine these changes with that of your ever changing business and home-life, and the printer features you needed a year or two ago may not be the one's you need today. Are you more suited for an ink or toner based product? Do you need a multi-function printer? Does your office have too many printers?
Finding the answers to these questions and more is as simple as calling us here at Cartridge World San Diego. In fact, most people don't even consider the cost of printer cartridges when buying a printer! By consulting with us before making a printer purchase, you can be assured you're not only getting the best possible printer for your home or business needs, but that you'll also purchase a cost effective machine based on our expertise in printer cartridge technology.
To reach us here at Cartridge World, simply call (585-581-9191) or visit our convenient location at 3952-H Clairemont Mesa Blvd. We'll be happy to help!

It's OK To Brag... Tips from a Sales Pro at Cartridge World

|
This spring, and on Earth Day in particular, shout out loud to your customers and friends about how green your business is! By simply using Cartridge World recycled printer cartridges, you're helping to lower the carbon footprint of your business and that's something your customers will appreciate.
Our tip to you this month is to "green up" your place of business. That doesn't mean go buy a fichus plant, though, that can sometimes be nice too. Offer customers coffee cups made with recycled materials, keep recycling bins in the eyes view, or even publish an e-mail newsletter (like this one) telling your customers what you're doing to proactively sustain our planet.
Despite our economy, customers are still looking to make "green decision" when developing new buying habits or even changing old ones. Using cloth shopping bags or purchasing hybrid vehicles are simply some of the more "visual" examples. Announcing to the world (or your corner of it) that you're participating in the greater good will certainly attract the attention of your current customers and maybe even bring in some new ones!
