Mentor Mingle
Mentors, we have scheduled an hour after the Kick Off event on October 4th for a mentor only time. This was a success last year and  is a great opportunity to not only meet some of the other mentors in the program, but also get some advice on your own mentoring relationship from mentors who have been in the program for several years.

Some light reading: Education in America
We came across this New York Times article "Reading, Math, and Grit" written by Joe Norcera, which provides some interesting information regarding what makes students succeed. Check it out, and also look at the new book How Children Succeed
by Paul Tough.

Rozjolei recently sent out an email to figure out what would be the best time for you all to talk. Please let her know ASAP so that you can all get started.  You can reach Rozjolei at: [email protected]

Make the AIM High college program work for you!

Adjusting to college is hard for everyone.  Its very natural to go through periods of great excitement and enthusiasm and periods of feeling overwhelmed and even a bit depressed.  Having an outlet, where you can just be yourself with people who already know you can make it easier.  That's the purpose of this group.  Therefore, please let us know what would make these webinars valuable for you.

For The Memories
Pictures of all the Summer Events we've had will be posted soon! Keep checking back!
