UCW Leadership Institute Won't Meet until February
UCW Leadership Institute is on hold until February. We are in the process of securing a new location for our weekly meetings. Stay posted for more info !!!
Transportation Costs Starting in January, 2012, all UCW and Urban Prep-Englewood students will need to pay a bus fee of $6 to ride the bus to Touchpoint events. If students have inconsistent attendance at the After School Leadership Institute and the Touchpoint Events they will be charged $10. |

Leadership Institute is Back in Session!
The weekly Leadership Institute meetings have resumed for CTD on Wednesday, January 10th, and for Urban Prep-Englewood on Saturday, January 14th. UCW Leadership Institute has been postponed until February.
Attendance is MANDATORY. If you are unable to attend, please email Rayne Bozeman at [email protected] or text (937) 830-4877. Incentive points are lost if you do not let Rayne know you will not be attending.

Touchpoint: Cultural Event at Medieval Times
This amazing, fun-filled event will be unlike any other. We'll journey back in time for a terrific evening of delicious food, entertainment, and fun! Students will depart schools by 4:30pm to ensure all arrive when the castle gates open at 6pm. Great food and much fun await so don't delay, be sure to register today!!!!

Transportation: provided for CTD, GWWCP, NLCP and Urban Prep-Bronzeville students. Students coming from UCW and Urban Prep-Englewood campuses pay $6 each. The Bus leaves School at 4:30pm and returns to school at 10:30pm.

Students talk to your parents: Parent chaperones are required for Urban Prep and UCW students who will be riding the bus. As a "thank-you", parents will receive a free dinner PLUS there will be no charge for parents who ride on the bus or their child! Please contact Lynn Rutstein at the Companies That Care office to sign up - 312-661-1010.

Special guest speaker, Ginny Clarke, President & CEO of Talent Optimization Partners, will be on hand and sure to inspire as she talks about her career and personal journey to become an expert in talent and career management, diversity recruiting and executive coaching. For those students and Mentors who have enjoyed reading Rebecca Skloot's "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks", please try to attend the this unique event being hosted by Northwestern University on Thursday, January 26th. This special event featuring author, Rebecca Skloot, is FREE to the public and will held from 4:30 - 6:00pm on the Northwestern Evanston campus. Mentors are encouraged to consider using this event as a great opportunity for 1 on 1 time with your student!

**Special Notes about street closures and building security**
* For all attending our January 18th Kick-Off event, please be aware that Monroe Street is currently closed due to construction from Canal to Franklin Streets. Please allow extra time to navigate around these street closures. If driving, you can exit the Kennedy Expressway at either WashingtonStreet or Jackson Street to travel east of the River. More detailed directions to this location can be found at www.mwe.com.
* Additionally, please be sure to enter the building from Monroe Street and check in at the Security Desk. If we do not receive your registration by Tuesday, January 17th and can confirm you will be attending, you will not be allowed to access McDermott, Will & Emery's offices. New Mentor Orientation
New mentors, if you did not participate in the previous New Mentor Training last Friday, please remember that there are two New Mentor trainings left. You can sign up for either January 17th or January 26th. All sessions take place from 11:30am-1 pm.
