Leadership Institute Resumes Next Week

 

Urban Prep and CTD students: Be aware that the weekly Leadership Institute meetings will resume for CTD on Wednesday, January 10th, and for Urban Prep on Saturday, January 14th. UCW Leadership Institute has been postponed until February.   

  

Attendance is MANDATORY. If you are unable to attend, please email Rayne Bozeman at [email protected] or text (937) 830-4877.

Touchpoint: Cultural Event at Medieval Times

 

For our next cultural event, we'll journey back in time for a terrific evening of delicious food, entertainment, and fun not to be missed! Great food and much fun await so be sure to RSVP today!

Time: 4:30pm - 10:30pm

Location: Medieval Times in Schaumburg

Who's Invited: All AIM High Students, Mentors and School Liaisons

Transportation: provided for CTD, GWWCP, NLCP and Urban Prep-Bronzeville students.  Students coming from UCW and Urban Prep -Englewood campuses pay $6 each.

Cost: Free to all AIM High Students + one Mentor.  Additional Mentors welcome for an additional cost of $40 .   

Parent Help: Parent chaperones are required for Urban Prep and UCW students who will be riding the bus. As a "thank-you" parents will receive a free dinner, and there is no charge for parents who ride on the bus.  Please contact Lynn Rutstein at the Companies That Care office to sign up - 312-661-1010.

From nursing to business, manufacturing to marketing, you'll be astounded to learn about all the different directions your career can take.  Special guest speaker, Ginny Clarke, President & CEO of Talent Optimization Partners, will be on hand and sure to inspire as she talks about her career and personal journey to become an expert in talent and career management, diversity recruiting and executive coaching.For more information about Ginny and her organization, follow this link to her website.

For those students and Mentors who have enjoyed reading Roberta Skloot's "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks", please try to attend the this unique event being hosted by Northwestern University on Thursday, January 26th.  This special event featuring author, Rebecca Skloot, is FREE to the public and will held from 4:30 - 6:00pm on the Northwestern Evanston campus.  Mentors are encouraged to consider using this event as a great opportunity for 1 on 1 time with your student!

Welcome back!!!

Happy New Year to all !!! We at AIM High hope you enjoyed the time you were able to spend with family and friends. Now it's time to work off those extra calories from all the holiday sweets you probably indulged in and bunker down for the season ahead.

Starting next week, the AIM High Leadership Institute will resume its weekly meetings at CTD and Urban Prep. Plans are still underway to organize a new meeting time for our students at UCW.

Transportation Costs

As of the next Touchpoint Event (the Work Readiness Workshop and Alumni Event on January 5th) all UCW and Urban Prep students will need to pay a bus fee of $6 to ride the bus to Touchpoint events.  If students have poor attendance at the After School Leadership Institute and the Touchpoint Events they will be charged $10.
