Shoshanna in Chico, Oct 23Greetings!

Amazing that it's already November. That fabulous festival and a super busy October has kept me on my toes and I'm just now finally sending out my "monthly" email. :-)
It was great seeing so many of you for the Redwood Coast Belly Dance Festival - thanks for coming out! It was amazing having Dalia Carella in Arcata. What a treat.

Since then, I've been teaching a bunch, dancing in fun places like Chico with Origin Tribal, putting on incredible birthday parties for little ones at Redwood Raks, and getting excited about my second baby, due in March. That's right! And I recently found out it will be a girl. :-)

Now I'm looking forward to slowing down a bit after the next few weeks and hosting the annual Winter Hafla on December 12, 2pm at Redwood Raks. Come see what all the hard-working dance students are up to!

BEATS ANTIQUE at RED FOX TAVERN
Friday, November 6, Eureka, CA
I just found out about this show! I'll be out of town, but if you can, please go check it out. Cool very danceable music. Doors open at 9:30pm, show starts at 10pm, tickets are $15.00, 21+. Red Fox Tavern is at 415 5th Street, Eureka, and space is limited! I recommend getting a ticket beforehand, even though there's a $3.15 fee if you do it online (I'm sure you could go in person, too). 2 LEFT FEET DANCE PROJECT
Friday & Saturday, Nov 6-7, Redwood Raks, Arcata
This is a non-profit showcase for local choreographers to show their stuff in a marvelous two-night performance at Redwood Raks, Old Creamery Building, Arcata. Just $10 general or $7 students, this show starts at 7:00pm and has a big variety of dance styles. Included in the lineup is Ya Habibi Dance Company, performing a new fast & furious piece by Naia Maheen (Meghan Liggett). Learn more at the 2 Left Feet web page here.

BENEFIT FOR DARFUR
Sunday, November 8, Eureka, CA
Ya Habibi Dance Company will perform at this worthy cause presented by Eureka High School students (and dancers). The event is at the Eureka Women's Club at 1531 J Street in Eureka. The fundraising dinner begins at 6:00pm with the doors open at 5:30pm. Come join us for a night of music, mexican food, a raffle, and entertainment! It's just $10 per person or $25 per family. 

SHOSHANNA'S WINTER HAFLA
Saturday, December 12, Arcata CA
This annual fun showcase celebrates the hard work of many local belly dance classes in one exciting performance for our family and friends. It begins at 2pm and is just $5.00 general, $2.00 kids 5-12 yrs and free kids under 5 yrs. Featuring the students of Shoshanna, Marjhani, Rasheika and more!

REDWOOD RAKS at MORRIS GRAVES MUSEUM
Sunday, December 13, Eureka, CA
Celebrate a world of dance with the various classes of Redwood Raks during the free and fun "Afternoon of Dance" from 2-4pm at Morris Graves Museum in Eureka. See Belly Dancing, Break Dancing, Samba and more! All invited.
Shoshanna's DANCE CLASS UPDATES

The last session of my fall classes begins the week of November 9th. That leaves 5 weeks to get all ready for the Winter Hafla!
I'm really excited to be developing my regular Monday 6:00-7:30 Arcata and my Thursday 7:30-9:00 Eureka intermediate classes to take the title of RAKS AMAR DANCERS and become performance classes. If you're an intermediate level dancer and would like to learn choreographies to perform at Haflas plus some other fun events during the year please come on down! We start drilling technique and work on dances. Fun!

Special announcements:
No classes during Thanksgiving Break (Nov 23-27)
Spring classes will be starting up the week of January 4th (after a 3 wk break)
