Greetings!
Welcome to your March update about all the fun dancing things coming up in the next month or so. So much to do! I hope to see you at something soon. My Ya Habibi Dance Company and I had a wonderful time dancing for a big audience at Rakkasah West festival this weekend and, of course, shopping. So many pretty things! It makes me get excited about our own Redwood Coast Belly Dance Festival the first weekend in October. Yay!

Ink People Fundraising Event!

Artware Affair 2009: Samba!

Wharfinger Bldg, Eureka
This is the annual gala art auction fundraising event for The Ink People Center for the Arts, the parent of Mosaic Productions (producers of Redwood Coast Belly Dance Festival). It's an evening of amazing art, food by Ms M's Catering, great drinks, and amazing entertainment by Samba Na Chuva, Ya Habibi Dance Company, Melody Walker & Friends, and Humboldt Capoeira. Wow! Tickets include all of that and live & silent art auctions and are $40 each.

We'll be working on posing and tips and ideas for taking a great dance photo. Bring yourself, your costumes, make-up, hair things, and a camera if you have one! Shoshanna and Marjhani will bring fun things for you to play dress-up in, too. We'll take pictures and offer critiques and our professional opinions for you to help you become a super poser! :-)

Bliss Butterfly Fire Workshop

Bliss Butterfly is a dancer and fire artist from Sacramento, CA who will be stopping by Arcata for an event with Humboldt Circus as well as a workshop (playshop!) at Redwood Raks this coming Tuesday (instead of Shoshanna's regular class).
Intermediate Bellydance · 7-8pm · $15.00
Yoga/core strength, technique, layering, timing, more.
Fire Bellydance · 8:15-9:15pm · $25.00
Combine Bellydance with fire art. Fans, palms, sword, poi, staff, hoop..... Bring your favorite prop or contact Bliss for more info. Props available to borrow.

This one is more intermediate level... it will be energetic and fabulous!
