President Obama Names Commerce Secretary John Bryson, NEC Chair Gene Sperling as Co-Chairs of White House Office of Manufacturing Policy.
President Obama recently announced that Secretary John Bryson would join National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling as co-chair of the White House Office of Manufacturing Policy. The Office of Manufacturing Policy is part of the National Economic Council in the White House and works across federal government agencies to coordinate the execution of manufacturing programs and the development of manufacturing policy. Congratulations Schramm - Manufacturer of the Year
DVIRC would like to congratulate President and CEO, Ed Breiner and the entire Schramm team for winning the Manufacturer of the Year award hosted by the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards presented on November 17, 2011.
Schramm was chosen for many outstanding accomplishments including, commitment to social responsibility and strong community involvement, innovative manufacturing, strength in employee development, and maintaining a high standard quality system.

Mobile Outreach Skills Training for Manufacturing Production Workers
DVIRC is looking to establish a Mobile Outreach Skills Training (M.O.S.T.®) program for manufacturers in Southeastern Pennsylvania to address their needs for qualified and skilled talent. M.O.S.T.® is a program that rapidly places, educates and trains individuals for entry-level production positions in manufacturing firms. Manufacturing Leadership Series: Strategies for Growth
Over 100 regional business leaders gathered at DVIRC's annual Manufacturing Leadership Series: Strategies for Growth on Thursday, December 8, 2011.
Attendees heard from three business leaders present examples of how they are adopting new and innovative "best practices" to compete and succeed in the global economy.
Guests were welcomed by DVIRC President Barry Miller, and special guest State Senator Bob Mensch encouraging business leaders to contact him directly and share their views on how best the government can support American manufacturing.
The event was sponsored by Citizens Bank, Anro Printing, Fesnak and Associates, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, Ametek and the U.S. Export Assistance Center.
