| Trophy Win NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show
2009 Premium Merlot

We have just received the exciting news that our 2009 Premium Merlot won the Trophy for the Best Merlot of the Show in the recent NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show.
This wine is shaping up to become the best Merlot we have ever made, having so far won the following awards:
· Trophy - NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show 2011
· Gold Medal - NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show 2011
· Gold Medal - Cairns Show Wine Awards 2011
· Bronze Medal - Royal Queensland Wine Show 2011
· Bronze Medal - NSW Boutique Wine Awards 2011
Although not yet released at cellar door this wine will be available for tasting during the Murrumbateman Moving Feast on the October Long Weekend.

| Murrumbateman Moving Feast

The Murrumbateman Moving Feast is not far away, no doubt the best Festival of the Year! Held on the weekend of the 1st & 2nd October 2011. Thirteen local wineries are participating, each offering a main meal and/or dessert, perfectly matched with one of their wines. Dishes are $18 and desserts $12.

Gold Medal NZ International Wine Show
2009 Premium Shiraz | |
Our Shaw Vineyard Estate Premium 2009 Shiraz has been named on the Champions List at the New Zealand International Wine Show having been awarded a Gold Medal alongside a Silver and Bronze for our Premium 2009 Cabernet Shiraz and Premium 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon respectively.
The means that our 2009 Shiraz is now in the running for the Trophy which will be announced in September - crossing fingers!
Our Shaw Vineyard Estate Premium 2009 Merlot also won Gold in Cairns this month, highlighting the greatness of the 2009 reds from this rapidly emerging region.

Oktoberfest Dinner at Flint in the Vines
Friday 12 October
Due to popular demand Flint in the Vines is running another beer dinner at our exclusive venue located at Shaw Vineyard Estate.
To celebrate the original Oktoberfest in Munich, 12 October, 1810, they are offering beers from around the world with a 5 course degustation dinner to match.
Anthony Young of Plonk, Canberra's boutique beer and wine retailer will be at the dinner to talk about the wonderful beers from Germany, Belgium, England, America and Australia that will be showcased on the evening.
Friday October 12th, 6.30 for 7pm.
$95.00 per person including 5 course meal and all beers. Tickets are on sale online at www.flintinthevines.net.au and at the restaurant from 7 September.

We have gone QR
Quick Reference Codes | |
We have joined the technology age. From the 2011 vintage all our wine labels will display a QR code printed on the back label.
You can scan the QR code using your smartphone, which will link you to our website where you will have access to information about the wine, including awards and reviews.
A QR codes is a 2D matrix barcode that is readable by QR readers or smartphones (including iphones). There are numerous free scanning apps available which will allow you to scan the code.
QR codes have been popular in Asia for quite some time and if you look at the Hoyts movies guide or the real estate pages you will notice them starting to crop up.
Look out for our 2011 Premium Semillon Sauvignon Blanc due to be released mid September.

| Cielo & Cello High Tea Series
Friday November 4, 11 & 17th November | Between 3pm and 5pm Flint in the Vines is hosting a high tea with free flowing Shaw Cielo Sparkling wine on the terrace overlooking the grounds of Shaw Vineyard Estate whilst listening to the sensational sounds of one of Australia's most accomplished cellist, David Pereira.

$75.00 per person inclusive of high tea, unlimited sparkling wine, tea & coffee and cello concert.
