Harvest Festival
Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 April 2011 | |
Join us for great wine, food and music during the first weekend in April to celebrate the 2011 Harvest. Take part in vintage activities with opportunities for picking, tastings & educational tours. For a more relaxing weekend, simply indulge in long leisurely lunches, sipping on wines from the district in the tranquil autumn vineyard settings.
What's NOT on at Shaw Vineyard Estate Harvest Festival?!
Shaw Vineyard Estate in conjunction with the fabulous cellar door restaurant Flint in the Vines are putting on a feast for all the senses. Executive Chef Grant Kells has created a tantalising three-course meal which includes dishes such as Seared Peppered Tuna Feuillete or Tomato & Shiraz Braised Lamb Necks with Hand Made Olive Parpadelle - all dishes in the menu are matched to Shaw Vineyard Estate wines (optional).
If you want to stick around for more fabulous food, both days breakfast will be served using Flint in the Vines own organically grown eggs and produce. There will also be an Organic Sausage Sizzle and Paella on the Terrace - Paella is a Spanish rice dish that will wash down beautifully with the newly released Riscato which will be on tasting throughout the weekend.
For your eyes Shaw Vineyard Estate will be exhibiting the best entries from the 2010 Head On Portrait Prize and for your ears there will be live entertainment both days from 12pm - 4pm. Local talent Carl Morgan Trio, underground New York style jazz will be there on Saturday, and on Sunday your hips will be swaying to the Gypsy Latin Jazz band that is the Night Cafe.
If you think you've got some crushing moves, make sure you enter into the grape crushing competition which is held both days at 1pm and then when it's time to take your prizes home, pick up some bargains in the cleanskin sale at the cellar door.
For restaurant bookings please call Flint in the Vines on 02 6227 5144.

| New Release
Riscato | |

We have just released our newest label called Riscato. This wine displays a floral nose with abundant fruit. The palate has well balanced sweetness with tropical and citrus fruit flavours, a pink moscato style wine, low in alcohol.
Over recent years low alcohol sweet or semi sweet wines in the moscato style have become very popular in Australia. These are typically low alcohol wines (4-10%) and are ideal as aperitifs. The appeal of these wines is that they are very refreshing. The natural acidity of the wine is offset by the sweetness, but they are not overwhelmingly sweet. Serve well chilled.
Available on-line or at cellar door.
