NSW Top 40 Wines & Sydney Tasting
Once again, two of our wines have been selected in the NSW Top 40 following the 2010 NSW Wine Awards. This time is was for our Rieslings, both our 2009 Shaw Vineyard Estate Premium Riesling and our 2009 Shaw Vineyard Estate Winemakers Selection Riesling, also receiving Gold Medals in the 2010 NSW Wine Awards. | |

Join us this week on Thursday the 21st of October to taste the winning wines from the 2010 NSW Wine Awards and rub shoulders with some of the icons of the NSW Wine industry:
NSW Wine "Best of the Best Top 40" Tasting @ Museum of Contemporary Art,
When: Thursday 21st October, 140 George St, The Rocks.
What: Public Tasting: 5.00 - 9.00pm $50pp including NSW Wine glass, Wine Tasting, Canapés and your choice of either self guiding or joining a Winemaker Tour of the Top 40, Trophy Winners and NSW Wine of the Year.

Latest Release - 2008 Premium Merlot
Our first Premium Merlot has finally been bottled and is now available at cellar door and online.
Tasting Notes: Intense varietal aromas of spice and berries displaying a soft and rounded palate of ripe plums and blackberries. Well balanced acidity and oak.

 2008 Shaw Vineyard Estate Reserve Handpicked Merriman Cabernet Sauvignon, the first and only red to be labelled under the Reserve Handpicked label will be released on the weekend of the Wine, Roses & Jazz Festival (6-7 November 2010). Named after George Merriman who purchased the land upon which the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown along with the many district holdings in the 1800's. We have used our best performing variety and have handpicked only the best parcels which has resulted in a full bodied Cabernet which has matured in predominately French Oak for 28 months prior to bottling. It displays well balanced cassis and black currant aromas and flavours integrated seamlessly with the oak. Make sure you visit cellar door on the weekend of 6-7 November 2010 to taste this new release. |

Shaw wine wins Gold in Biggest Wine Show in the World
awc Vienna International Wine Challenge 2010 | |
awc vienna is the largest official recognised wine competition in the world! 10,951 wines from 1,733 producers out of 36 nations over five continents have been tasted and valuated anonymously.
This year for the first time we entered this prestigious show, submitting 7 wines and receiving medals for 6 as follows:
- Gold Medal - 2008 Winemakers Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
- Silver Medal - 2008 Premium Cabernet Sauvignon
- Silver Medal - 2008 Winemakers Selection Shiraz
- Silver Medal - 2008 Winemakers Selection Cabernet Merlot
- Silver Medal - 2008 Winemakers Selection Merlot
- Silver Medal - 2009 Winemakers Selection Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
The Winemakers Selection label is the mainstay of production which offers terrific value for money and a range of fresh, easy drinking wines. This label is mainly marketed overseas, currently exporting to Europe, China, Vietnam and Singapore.

In James Halliday's 2011 Australian Wine Companion, 10 wineries from the Canberra District received five-star ratings - a significant achievement for this small wine region.
Come and taste a range of cutting-edge Canberra District wines, including our 2009 Reserve Handpicked Isabella Riesling.
