Flint in the Vines Now Open
We are thrilled to announce that the Restaurant located at Shaw Vineyard Estate is now under new management under the name of 'Flint in the Vines'. The team fronting this exciting new venture is Grant Kells of Canberra hot spot 'Flint Dining Room & Bar' and formerly of Raffles Hotel Singapore, alongside sommelier Jai Dawson from Sydney's Longrain who is running the front of house.
"Flint in the Vines will quickly become a favourite with locals, Canberrans and interstate foodies, as it builds on the same premise as Flint Dining Room & Bar - good food in a casual environment". says partner/chef Grant Kells.
Its informal approach to dining will suit the whole family, whether it is for a weekend breakfast or lunch, special occasion dinner, wedding, or just a large group catching up over one of Flint's famous wood fired pizzas.
The new menu will incorporate elements of the Canberra offshoot and maintain a showcase for fresh local and regional produce, utilising the woodfired oven and grill. | |

| Big medal haul in International Wine Shows
| | Wine award season has well and truly hit us, winning no less than 17 medals at international wine shows in the last month in London and Singapore.
We have been awarded Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals from judges at the highly acclaimed International Wine Challenge (London), Decanter World Wine Awards (London) and the WSA Wine Challenge (Singapore). The complete tally of awards are:

Wines from the Canberra District have been getting rave reviews in the last 12 months, and picking up some pretty serious awards. It has really focussed attention on the wines we make, and the district winemakers would like to showcase some of these to Sydneysiders. Since a number of wineries are attending the Sydney Good Food & Wine Show 2010 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 July 2010, we thought we would spend a few days beforehand showing off our superb wines to Sydney-siders in a number of great restaurants, wine bars and other venues. The week will consist of a number of whole-of-district events, some events where a group of wineries are doing a joint promotion. Take your pick! Events featuring Shaw Vineyard Estate:

Tasting Notes: This Riesling is handpicked resulting in a lively fresh wine with an attractive nose of lime, floral and apple. Ripe powerful fruit palate showing limey citrus characters and a good acid balance, a typical Germanic style. Fantastic with Thai food or anything spicy!
