Hi Everyone, Last month was pretty darned cool. I hosted the Seabreeze Jazz Festival and it was terrific to see so many music lovers out for the entire weekend! They ran out of tickets for the Jam Session Friday night and 5,000 were printed so that gives you an idea of how many people there were! The best part for me is that I got to spend time with the fans and the other artists over the course of the weekend. Being the host has its perks! Thanks to Mark and Renee Carter for putting on one heck of a party. The Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards were great. I saw so many friends, and made many new ones. Congratulations to International Winners Brian Culbertson, Fourplay and Seal - keep the music comin'! Thanks to Mary and Doug Kirk who make sure each and every artist experiences their warm welcome and hospitality.
May is a crazy month, see below for all the
places I'll be. Hopefully I'll see you at
one of them! Peace,

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Nick will be performing on The Smooth Jazz Cruise 2011, bringing his own special brand of Jam Sessions as well as performing his own headline show. Nick joins Host Wayman Tisdale, Music Night Host David Sanborn, Special Guest Boney James, and fellow stars Gerald Albright, Rick Braun, Norman Brown, Jonathan Butler, George Duke, Candy Dulfer, Richard Elliott, Jeff Golub, Philippe Saisse and Brian Simpson with vocalists Larry Briggs and Simone, Comic/Host Alonzo Bodden, and Cruise Hosts Pat Prescott and Dane Butcher. There are two separate sailings being offered on the cruise, the first January 9-16 and the second January 16-23, 2011. Our ship will be Holland America's Noordam and our ports of call are Ft. Lauderdale (departure port), San Juan, St. Thomas, Tortola and Half Moon Cay. There's a tremendous amount of useful information on the Cruise website (including payment options - there's a new long term payment plan that's great for budgeting) and we will be be sharing news of the Cruise as we go forward. With a line-up that's truly unlike any ever assembled for a Caribbean cruise, lots of time to make your plans, the experience Jazz Cruises LLC brings to its guests, and two weeks to choose from, this is an event to put on your calendar now!
Phone numbers for info are: Be sure and mention Nick's code, NC1, when calling for info or booking.
Nick will be doing three clinics at Sam Ash Music Stores in the Chicagoland area for his longtime endorsement sponsor, Epiphone Guitars, in May. These clinics are free, casual and are a lot of fun - Nick plays, discusses music and guitars (like his beloved Broadway Elitist!), and provides personal instruction to clinic attendees. If you live in the area (see Tour Dates section for dates and locations) come out for an enjoyable discussion of music with Nick!
The London dates are right up on us and the guys are excited! Nick, Dave Koz and Brian Simpson have been working on their show at Pizza Express for several weeks...it's going to be killer! Jimi King of SKY.fm has done an incredible job of promoting the shows, and ALL six shows are sold out. While in London, Nick is going to be the subject of a mini-documentary to be shot by ijazzglobal.com's Michael Tozzi. It will debut on ijazzglobal.com within a few weeks of being shot and edited...and will give everyone a personal view of an artist's life on the road in one of the world's great cities. Michael will be following Nick's every move, from breakfast to the Tower of London! (Well, maybe not EVERY move , too much information!!!)

Nick is extremely proud of his former student, Chris Jones, who graduates from Milliken College in Decatur, IL in May. Nick first met Chris, then in the third grade, when he began mentoring at St. Laurence K-8 School in Elgin, IL. Chris immediately demanded to be taught how to play guitar! Nick obliged, and Chris was an exellent student. He received a music scholarship to Milliken where he has majored in sound engineering. Chris will be accompanying Nick and the band to Atlanta for his first professional road gig on May 23. Proud parents Bob and Kathy made sure Chris's graduation party (which he will share with brothers Brian who graduates from St. Laurence and Steven who graduates from St. Edward's high school, both students of Nick's as well) was scheduled on a non-conflicting weekend!
Nick shares with you the tunes that are tops on his iPod - here are his current TOP 10 faves!
Nick has a webstore. Check it out!
Nick on the right side of the law! Sgts Jenkins and Brotherston of the Bay County Sheriff's Office stood security for Nick at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival while he signed cds (for over 2 hours...we thank them for that!). Photo taken by Sheriff Marney Hudson. Nick couldn't have been any safer, now could he!!!! Many thanks to all of the fine officers of the Bay County Sheriff's Department under the leadership of Sheriff W. Frank McKeithen and the Panama City Beach Police Department under the leadership of Chief Robert H. Harding for their work both inside and outside of the festival grounds. We salute you!
