Hi Everyone, We had a ball as usual on the 2009 Smooth Music Cruise...fun in port and on the ship for five straight days! The weather was great and it was terrific seeing so many music lovers all in one place. On the last night's Grand Jam I had the pleasure of being accompanied on stage for my opening number by a bevy of beautiful dancers who all just happened to have guitars...and they gave colorful a brand new meaning! After we got back from the Cruise, we went to Norfolk, CT for a Valentine's Day show with Brian Simpson. The venue was Infinity Hall, built in 1883 and totally restored with original details but all the modern bells and whistles added - the sound was warm and rich due to the all wood interior, and the crowd was hot, hot, hot!
There are some great events coming up
- I'm
taking a little personal time the first two
weeks of March, but March 14 I'll be joining
rock legend Jim Peterik on his new music
venture in jazz, "Lifeforce" at the
College
of Lake County in Grayslake, IL. March 21
will find me in Dallas doing two shows
with
my good friend Marion Meadows for the
brand-new jazz series at the Bishop Arts
Theater Center. Cameron Smith from My
Jazz
Network will be the host. April is a busy
month with a new date added at the Performing
Arts Center in Bowie, MD plus the
Seabreeze
Jazz Festival in Panama City Beach, FL, where
I'll be the host all weekend as well as
performing, finishing up with a return visit
to the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards
where Tim
Bowman and I plan to rip the roof off with
our number together! We are both nominated
as International Instrumental Artist of
the Year...very cool.
See below for details
on all these dates and more.
Peace,

About half of our Kickin' members on board gathered for a photo with Nick...photo by ship photographer Kickin' With Nick members and fearless leader Carrie had a great time on the Cruise. Thanks to Haven Entertainment which hosted a private party for Kickin' members, Nick, and his band, members were treated to free drinks and hot hors d'oeuvres in the beautiful Hemisphere Lounge/Disco which opened in the afternoon specially for the event. Carrie gave out tons of door prizes ranging from t-shirts to specially framed Nick pix and lots more. Kickin' members also had up-front seating for Nick's mainstage show, and Carrie arranged casual shipboard get togethers all during the week. Carrie had the invaluable assistance of members Captain Rusty and Jazzy Michael to make sure everyone had a wonderful Kickin' experience. The Kickin' family (and that's what it is!) attended everything in force, and new member Mark Bitzan hit the jackpot when he won the drawing for an autographed Epiphone Broadway guitar (courtesy of Epiphone) at Nick's Epiphone guitar clinic on board the ship! If you'd like to learn more about Kickin' With Nick and how to become a member of the "funnest" fan club out there, click on the link below. Carrie will be happy to tell you all about it.
Nick's current single "No Limits" has moved up to #3 globally on the RadioWave.com Smooth Jazz/Fusion chart, now has over 500,000 streams! This chart measures internet and satellite radio airplay, including Live365, Sirius, XM, AOL, MTV, Rhapsody and more. This chart captures and records more than 4,000,000 titles each week, from more than 4,800 monitored Internet and Satellite broadcasts. It is the world's largest airplay monitoring and information service.
Michael Tozzi, former program director for WJJZ Philadelphia, has a brand new gig. It's ijazzglobal.com and he's got some great content - from artist interviews and videos to global jazz news and photos...and it's streaming live 24-7 with the music Michael loves. You will, too...check it out via the link below. As the official videographers for the 2009 Smooth Music Cruise, Michael and crew were able to capture once-in-a-lifetime performances by the cruise artists, and unlike YouTube videos the sound is SUPERB! These videos are going up on the site as they are edited, and Nick's is smokin'!
