Nick's Notes for Kids
July 2008
This Month's Topic: Care of Instruments and Equipment SUMMER FUN Hey guys, I know you thought I had forgotten about you. WRONG. First things first, I hope you are all having
a lot of fun this summer and please be
careful and stay safe.
As of late I have been doing a lot of
traveling which brings to mind new
things to talk to you about. One of the things that I want to stress to
you about playing is the importance of
keeping your instrument and equipment in good
working
condition. I recently experienced some
equipment problems at a concert I was doing.
I wanted to talk about this because, when you
are performing and your equipment starts to
mess up, it really affects you mentally.
Although the show must go on and you play
through it you are always thinking about what
is happening with your equipment which makes
you not be really into the performance the
way you should be because you are somewhat
worried about what is going to happen next.
But you must stay in the moment
and do the best show you can do and try to
play through it. Unless it just completely
goes out then you have to tell some jokes or
something. LOL.. I thought this was
something I should tell you about so that you
know that maintaining the upkeep of your
guitar or whatever (instruments equipment,
etc.) is important to
you and your parents who spent good money to
buy it for you.
So, with that I want to say, practice,
practice and make sure that when you are out
there the equipment you have is on point and
won't be the cause for a bad show, even if
that show is in your garage! I am
still looking for more topics to cover so I
look for your input. Let's get the ball
rolling and write me! Always strive to be the best that you can be as a person first and then the best musician. Much Love Nico P.S.
