Kickin' with Nick members Bennett and Mary Shuldman were high bidders at the recent "Lunch In The Limelight " Celebrity Auction with the proceeds going to the Franklin Fine Arts Center, a Chicago magnet elementary school for the visual and performing arts. Nick and the Franklin Fine Arts Center would like to thank Bennett and Mary for their generous winning bid in what turned out to be a bit of a bidding war. Now the only question is.....where do the Shuldmans want to have lunch? Since they live in New England, they can choose a date from Nick's upcoming Christmas tour with Brian Culbertson in their area....or choose any of Nick's dates in 2008...decisions, decisions!
Nick's newest single from his chart-topping CD "Keepin' It Cool" is the title track, and is at radio now. It's signature Nick, with a great groove and that touch of funk that only Nick can provide. Contact your favorite radio station and make sure they know you want to hear "Keepin' It Cool".

Nick loved Rehoboth Beach - a great beach, a wonderful festival, a cool and trendy beach town along with a great seafood restaurant - Fins! photo by Dolores Ann October was a fun month, starting off with the Jazz Trax Catalina Island Jazz Festival. Beautiful weather and a warm, jazz-loving crowd made for a great day on the Island. Art Good knows how to throw a jazz party, that's for sure! Be sure to check out the review of this great Festival on www.smoothvibes.com. The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival was a ton of fun! The coastal area in Delaware is gorgeous in the fall and Nick and friends really enjoyed the great restaurants, the shopping and of course the beach and boardwalk. Nick was a guest artist on Jason Miles' show, The Music of Marvin Gaye and Motown, and also participated in the Grand Finale Jam. It was Nick's first time at this festival and his reception couldn't have been warmer from the audiences. Leon and Denny , the event promoters made Nick feel right at home, as did the many fans who came out to see him. Next up was Davenport, IA, for the Quad Cities Fall Smooth Jazz Festival where Nick played to a packed house of appreciative jazz fans. Festivl promoter Valerie Davispulled out all the hospitality stops and it was a really great gig. The last event of the month was Jazz on the Green in Estero, FL. Nick was a huge hit, with constant standing ovations from the huge enthusiastic audience. They wouldn't let him and the band go, and so it was encore time. Very cool! Nick also drew the winners on stage for the two big raffle items benefiting the Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida - a cabin for the All Star Smooth Cruise in January 2008 and an Epiphone Guitar and case (see article that follows). Thanks to the Festival Committee and volunteers for making this wonderful charity event so much fun (especially Pauline, Pam, Kim and John).
Epiphone Guitar's generous donation of an Epiphone Les Paul Special II electric guitar and case was raffled off at the Jazz On The Green Festival, Estero, FL to benefit the Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. Nick drew the winning ticket on stage, and a delighted Mr. and Mrs. David Richardson collected their guitar, which they had Nick autograph to the ultimate beneficiary - their son Mischa, a budding teen guitarist. When Nick commented on how cool it was that they had the winning raffle ticket, David responded "Ticket?".... turns out he purchased more than a few to increase the chances of winning! Congratulations to all of the Richardsons!
Wally and Kathy Nishimoto from Madera, California purchased Bettie Grace Miner's painting of Nick at the Jazz Trax Catalina Island Jazz Festival, and Nick was there to sign it for them! The painting is a limited edition Giclee on canvas and is an award winning piece of Bettie's. We know Wally and Kathy will enjoy it for many years to come.
