Epiphone Guitar Clinics a Huge Success
    Epiphone August

Nick was invited to participate in the Gibson Pro Shop Jam, an invitation only event held at the Gibson USA Pro Shop plant in Nashville, TN, July 13 and 14. A showcase event for Gibson and Epiphone Guitars, key dealers, distributors and musicians from all over the world gathered for a weekend of clinics, entertainment and lots of great food!

Nick gave two clinics on the playability of the Epiphone "Broadway", which he endorses and plays, and you can "attend" one of these clinics by going to the link below to the Epiphone website, click through to watch the videos. Besides discussing the Broadway, Nick addressed a lot of questions from the standing room only audience regarding the process of making music and his career and approach to playing....there are lots of demonstrations by Nick of different playing styles and techniques in the six-video series. If you've ever wondered what the creative process of an artist is, this is a fascinating insight!

Nick is featured on the cover of the August issue of the Epiphone website and newsletter, along with his new customized guitar strap presented to him by Epiphone in Nashville at the start of the weekend. Thanks to Jim, Don, Kent and Cara of Epiphone Guitars for their tremendous hospitality and support!

    New Single At Radio Now

Nick's newest single from his chart-topping CD "Keepin' It Cool" is the title track, and is at radio now. It's a funky tune, perfect for listening to while you're driving with your convertible top down (or imagining you have one!). As this is written, "Keepin' It Cool" was the second most added song at radio!

Contact your favorite radio station and make sure they know you want to hear "Keepin' It Cool".

    Recent Places Nick's Been

July and the beginning of August were a lot of fun. Nick started off July with the wedding celebration of some very dear friends.

Next, he spent two really great days in Nashville, TN where he did two clinics for Epiphone Guitars (see article above). He had a terrific time and when it was time to relax he knew he was in the Real South - he stayed at the totally beautiful Spring Haven Mansion, a private residence owned by some very close friends. If you are curious about this gracious old Southern gem, or live in the Nashville area and are looking for an amazing place to hold a private event or wedding, visit the link below.

The final event of the month was the Wine and Jazz Autograph Session, Spaghettini's, Seal Beach, CA. Not a reservation was left at this event! Nick enjoyed meeting his fans, doing a little playing and spending some time on air with the lovely Barbara Blake, host of 94.7 The Wave's Sunday Brunch broadcast. Many thanks to Mike and Cindy Nordskog and to "Q" at Spaghettini's, most gracious hosts. Thanks also go to Bettie Grace Miner who exhibited her gorgeous portrait of Nick at the event, and to Melanie Maxwell, publisher of Smooth Jazz News, for covering the event for her magazine, complete with photographer! You can still order the Nick Colionne/Tobin James Cellars wine package by visiting www.wineandjazz.com.

The beginning of August saw Nick busy with three events almost back to back: First up, Candid Jazz and Conversations at La Dolce Vita in Gary, IN. The night was hot and so were Nick and the band! But Denise and Robert made sure everyone was "Keepin' It Cool" in the heat!

Two days later the City of North Chicago Community Day saw some rocky weather, and after three songs Nick and the band were rained out. Despite valiant efforts by the stage crew to keep the water away, it was a losing battle. Mayor Rockingham was able to make sure the fireworks went off as scheduled, though, and they were spectacular. Nick was invited to come back next year, when the weather will hopefully be more cooperative!

The following day it was off to Trenton, MI, for Jazz On The River. Thunderstorms all over the midwest made for some flight delays, but when the van carrying Nick and the band arrived in front of the stage the crowd stood up and cheered....and during his show they didn't stop! The rain had left, and the setting right on the river was absolutely perfect. Thanks go to WVMV Smooth Jazz Detroit and Alexander Zonjic for a really fun gig...it made up for all the craziness getting there with its wonderfully responsive audience!
