Hey !

MTW HEADS TO BOSTON!
MTW is expanding to Boston! We are grateful for the incredible support of so many partners as we empower more youth to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business! This is a very exciting time for us and we want to give a special shout out to 2 of our partners supporting us to reach more youth. Stay tuned as we finalize our plans for 2011!

THANK YOU BNY MELLON!
By: Linda

We would like to thanLinda and the MTW Vank BNY Mellon for their generous grant of $100,000! It was very thoughtful of them to support us as we begin to replicate. We look forward to using this donation for our second location! This money is so important so that MTW can help even more youth like me accomplish our goals. I also want to give a special thank you to BNY Mellon for allowing me to speak at their event and understanding my story.

THANK YOU SGP!
By: Leakia
and Jaime

MTW wants to give a HUGE thank you to our partner, Strategic Grant Partners (SGP) for awarding us with a grant of $750,000 over the next 3 years! This grant will help us tremendously as we open our second site and empower more youth. I was able to go into downtown Boston and explain my life story, how I got intoduced to MTW, and what I do here. I want to thank SGP for letting me tell my story and listening to me - and of course, for the money!

SGP will help you double the impact of your investment in MTW - all new and increased donations will be matched dollar for dollar by Strategic Grant Partners. Please consider investing in our growth. Click HERE to donate now!

VET SPOTLIGHT: CASSANDRA
By: Cassandra
Cassandra
My name is Cassandra and I'm a Veteran of MTW. I'm currently in school at the Red Cross studying phlebotomy, which is drawing blood. I'm studying to become a nurse and I graduate on December 10th. After that, I'm going to do an internship at a clinic and hopefully will get hired there full-time. MTW helped me a lot with my resume and interviewing skills, and I'm grateful for their support. My long term goal is to become a nurse or an EMT.

EVEREST CAREER INSTITUTE
By: Domingo

We went on aDomingo with Everest Gear site visit to Everest Career Institute to get a tour from their staff who have experience working in all of the different fields you can study there. I learned that they offer 3 programs: Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant. All of us were very interested in seeing how their school is run and what the teachers are like. Thank you to Alexandra Buchalski for leading a very informative tour to our youth employees here at MTW.

THE KAPLAN EXPERIENCE
By: Yuri
Kaplan Career Institute
We would like to thank Stephen Anthony from Kaplan Career Institute for giving us a tour of the campus. He showed us the different subjects you can study: HVAC, Computers, and Electricity. He also explained what types of jobs you can get after you graduate. Depending on the career path you choose, you can be at Kaplan from 9-15 months. What really stood out to me was that Stephen couldn't stress enough how important it is to get an education. This is also something that MTW takes very seriously, so I'm glad that they can show us so many different education options!

What is transitions at MTW? Also known as the YOU job, transitions is the time we devote to working on achieving our personal goals surrounding our education, employment, and self-efficacy. To learn more, click here.
