My name is Ramon and I am a veteran of MTW. I'm currently in my second year at Mass Bay Community College. I'm studying Criminal Justice so that I can become a Probation Officer and help kids get their lives on track, just like MTW does. I'm becoming more independent and one of my main goals is to transfer to a four year college to get my degree.

GRAINGER SITE VISITGrainger
By: Domingo

During Transitions, we went on a site visit to Grainger, the world wide business supply store, to see how they run a business like ourselves at MTW. The Branch Manager of Grainger gave us a tour of their store and warehouse. All of us learned a lot about the history of Grainger and the services they offer to customers. Some youth would love to work there as a transitional job. We want to thank Peter Cicchetti for setting up this visit. If you'd like to learn more about Grainger, click here.

STAPLES SITE VISIT
By: Kayla
Staples site visit
The Staples site visit was very informative and fun! The hospitality there was great and everyone learned about how a very successful business operates. They taught us about how important teamwork is among their staff members, which is something we value highly here at MTW too. We left with pencil cases and smiley faces! We want to thank Sacchin Gadkari, our tour guide, for a great tour!

COLLEGE FAIR: PREPARING US FOR THE FUTURE
By: Shanice

I went to the college fair held at Belmont High and looked into colleges that had great programs as well as offered jobs, internships, and externships to get more experience in certain fields. The fields I'm interested in are psychology and marketing. Talking to most of the colleges really helped me figure out what I want in a school and I'm looking forward to visiting their open houses. This college fair was very informative and made me excited to start college!

What is Transitions at MTW?
Also known as the "you" job, transitions is the time we devote to working on achieving our personal goals surrounding our education, employment, and self-efficacy. To learn more, click here.

DOUBLE THANKS TO DGI
By: Domingo

Thank you to DGI Invisuals for running a huge book drive for us AND wrapping our van! The van looks amazing and we're so excited to have it. DGI came up with a great idea for a book drive that you could easily do too: they ran a book drive throughout their entire office park, Northwest Park, which has over 40 buildings!! We're so grateful for their support and want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who was involved and donated books. We really appreciate it!! To learn more about how you can organize your own book drive, click here.To check out DGI, click here.
