Greetings!

Oak Knoll is preparing for a visit to Italy, an antique show in Old New Castle, and highlighting our great distribution partner, the American Antiquarian Society!
Bologna? More than just great pasta sauce?
oakknoll header Of course! It has books and book sellers! On September 20-26, the International Congress of the ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers) will meet in Bologna, Italy. Bob, Millie, and Rob Fleck will attend the conference, as well as participate in the 23rd International Antiquarian Book Fair. The fair, an event integrated into the conference, will include three days of showcasing books, as well as a general assembly and farewell dinner. Italy will be the perfect place for this year's conference, not only because of the delicious Bolognese pasta sauce and the beautiful Bibliotec Malatestiana, but because it will provide an opportunity for each member to remember that ILAB is truly founded on a love of books. A love for books known internationally, across all cultures.
Historic New Castle: Books and Antiques!
oakknoll header On Sunday, August 29, come visit the waterfront in Battery Park and enjoy the Historic New Castle Antiques Show. Between 10am and 4pm, almost 100 dealers will display their antiques for sale under shaded tents, next to the river. After you've browsed the antiques, The Bookshop in Old New Castle invites you to stop in and see our selection of antiquarian books ("antique", if you will), as well as new titles of all genres! Even our building, originally the New Castle Opera House built by the Masons in 1879, can be considered quite an antique. Visiting this weekend will surely give you a healthy dose of authentic collectibles and historical architecture!
American Antiquarian Society
oakknoll header As we recently received a new distribution book from the American Antiquarian Society, Oak Knoll was once again reminded of the great partnership shared with the AAS. The AAS is an independent research library that documents life in New England from the Puritans and first settlements through the Civil War and Reconstruction. Its library's collections include books, pamphlets, newspapers, broadsides, almanacs, and others. Elected as the AAS's distributor in 1995, Oak Knoll continues to distribute titles for the AAS, with the newest being A Place in my Chronicle, A New Edition of the Diary of Christopher Columbus Baldwin, 1829-1835. Click here to view a catalogue of their books, or click here for more information on the AAS.
