Online Exhibits and The Kotzschmar Organ at 100

Will C. McFarlane, Portland's first municipal organist, ca. 1912 MMN# 6975
The Kotzschmar Memorial Organ remains a centerpiece of the auditorium at Portland City Hall since 1912, despite renovations and changes to the facility and to the organ itself. This year, the Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ are celebrating the glorious musical instrument's 100th anniversary with special concerts from August 17-22.

For more history of the organ and its namesake, check out the Maine Memory exhibits The Kotzschmar Memorial Organ and Hermann Kotzschmar: Portland's Musical Genius.
