Panel: The Making of It's About You 

Additionally, Pro8mm is hosting a panel on "The Making of It's About You", featuring Phil Vigeant and filmmakers Kurt and Ian Markus.

This panel will take an intimate look at the creative elements, technology, equipment, workflows and obstacles that needed to be addressed to shoot a full length feature documentary on Super 8 film. Filmmakers Kurt and Ian Markus will intimately and candidly talk about the making of the film and take Q&A from the audience. Phil Vigeant will talk about the role his lab and transfer facility played in order for the filmmakers to achieve their creative vision on Super 8 film.  READ PANEL DETAILS

DO A SHOT WITH Pro8mm and Kodak!   

Kodak and Pro8mm are hosting free hands on Super 8 film shooting sessions at SXSW. Sign up at the Kodak booth, #530.  

Starting at the Kodak booth with Super 8 film expert Phil Vigeant, (Pro8mm President and Author of The Power of Super 8 Film) filmmakers will begin with some basic hands on training. Bring your own Super 8 Film camera, or use one of theirs. You will then have two hours to go around the expo on your own and shoot your roll of Super 8 film.

Sessions will be March 14,15,16 and 17 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) at 12:00pm and 3:00pm each day with 8 people signed up per time slot.

Please sign up if you are interested. We accept people that day for each session on a first come first served basis so please arrive early.

HANDS ON SUPER 8 WORKSHOPS  

A few weeks ago, Pro8mm met up with students from The University of The Redlands to host a hands on workshop at the school. Phil presented "The Power of Super 8 Film," followed by some basic camera training. We then let the students loose to roam campus and shoot! Check out what these amazing students produced!  

University of the Redlands Workshop

Interested in hosting your own private Super 8 hands on workshop? Pro8mm is available to host private Super 8 workshops at your school, organization or meet up group. The Power of Super 8 Film hands-on workshop is a 3-hour event that includes lecture, hands on training and shooting film. Each participant will have the opportunity to shoot their own roll of Super 8 film. Pro8mm will provide all the equipment including cameras, film and educational resource materials. The processing and scanning service fees are included as part of the registration material. The Price is $75.00 per participant with a minimum of 8 participants. This does not include travel cost.
