Pro8mm Now Offers
New 444 Workflows
Pro8mm, the leading innovators
for the use and application of Super 8 film for over 35 years adds two new
popular Native 444 workflows to the list of ways Small Format Film can be used
in High Definition and 35mm Film applications.
We now have 444 RGB 10 bit and
the new 4444 Pro Res files. Original film in all small gauge film formats
Super 8, 8mm, Max8, 16mm and Super 16) can be scanned to digital using our 4K
Millennium II Scanner and encoded directly to our new 8 Terabyte San System.
We are presently offering native HD scanning at 1920 X 1080.
The new workflows are supported with
our 8 terabyte high-speed server. This new system allows for direct encoding in 444 from the scanner. A client can walk out of a telecine
session with the files in hand ready for editing. The San System will also support the
playback of various data file formats to tape for clients who need to
migrate back from file to tape.
We have already completed
projects with DPX workflows using client-supplied systems for encoding in 422
DPX. By having our own San System, we can offer service for very small jobs
that require high-end results. Now any project can justify the cost of the use of
small gauge film in very high quality. Last year we did some interesting
projects like the 35mm theatrical release "My Sisters Keeper" which used 10 bit
uncompressed workflows to take Super 8 film into a 35mm release.
The best part of our new system
is due to the increased efficiency, we will be lowering the prices of certain
workflows and eliminating our docking charges.

Data DVD's are for single roll jobs only. There
is a $10.00 per disc charge for jobs requiring more than a single disc. Use portable, light weight hard drives
