We were delighted and surprised to see the article that appeared in the recent issue of Super8 Today on our new Pro814 which is our modernized and upgraded version on the Canon 814 Auto Zoom release about a year ago. This camera is quickly becoming the choice for film schools who offer classes on Super 8 film, filmmakers who shoot weddings and independent projects. | KID ROCK ALL SUMMER LONG |
 The extremely popular Kid Rock Video "All Summer Long" shot Pro8mm negative as part of the project. The scenes of teens on the dock, in the cars and at the side of the river shot on Pro8 give a nice contrast to Kid himself shot in another medium.

 The Suicide Girls is a website that features soft-core, pin-up -style photos and text profiles of Goth, punk and indie-styled young women (although styles reminiscent of the 1940s and '50s pin-up models are also incorporated) who themselves are known as the "Suicide Girls". Recently, footage was shot of some of the girls on Pro8/85 that followed them around to local tattoo parlors and various other recreational activities. Check out www.suicidegirls.com . Election Campaigns, utilizing text messaging, cell phones, email, videos and the Internet in more and more creative ways, it has been fantastic to see how the use of Super 8 film as both an archival and production tool are being used to create a more hand made feel to the stories being told on the campaign trail and by the Democratic Party.
We are honored once again (Kerry '04 DNC) to have a hand in history in the making with several videos that were shown at the Democratic National Convention 2008. Two of our clients have produced several high profile spots that aired at the convention.
Former President Jimmy Carter was the subject of a tribute video during the convention about the rebuilding of New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Breaking with the tradition of giving speech time to living former presidents, convention organizers honored Carter with a video clip highlighting his work with Hurricane Katrina victims. The Pro8mm footage was shot on Pro8mm negative film , processed and scanned on our new M2. JIMMY CARTER TRIBUTE
Signs of Hope and Change is a multimedia video that was shown at the convention and will be on going with new footage as the campaign continues to Election Day. It shows volunteers and Obama supporters on the campaign trail. Some of the Pro8mm footage is edited into the current clip. More will be added as the project continues over the coming weeks. Also shown at the convention were family montages of Joe Biden and family, and closing night tribute film to highlight the continued plight of New Orleans Citizens.

 Billy Bob Thorntons' Band
The Boxmasters, a band formed by Billy Bob Thornton has a great throw back image to accompany their classic country R & B music. Recent concert tour footage shot on one of our MAX 8 Classic Professional cameras and scanned to HD on our M2 was shot by photographer/Filmmaker Myriam Santos. Santos does a fabulous job of capturing a very personal montage of the group as the venues are often small and intimate. Working with colorist Phil Vigeant in the M2 suite, some creative decisions were made to take out the color of the Pro8 negative film to achieve an edgy contrast consistent with the black and white photos you often see of the band. |
