NEW VISION3FILM STOCK Available in Super 8

Pro8/19, ASA 500T

Only days after the VISION3 launch by Kodak, Pro8mm has available for purchase Pro8/19, reformatted at our Burbank facility from Kodak 5219 and loaded into convenient Super 8 cartridges.  The first in the new  VISION3series of color negative film, Pro8/19 is a 500T negative stock that offers the filmmaker greater flexibility in exposure latitude with improved grain in the shadows.   Pro8/19 adds 2 more stops of latitude in the over exposure, and improved grain structure in the shadows. These are two exciting improvements in the film stock which will make the imaging process easier to achieve and with even better results. Part of the Kodak Vision Family of Films, Pro8/19 is an extension of Vision2 Pro8/18,  so it can be cut in seamlessly.

Kodak notes that the dramatic improvements developed for VISION3 come from their proprietary DLT, Dye Layering Technology.   It was developed to significantly reduce grain in the shadow areas of the frame, while pulling more detail out of the highlights.  In addition, extended highlight latitude gives welcome expansion so the film can perform over a 9 stop range of light.  For available light photography typical in Super8 applications,  this mean fantastic highlight detail with better shadow grain.
