Cleaning Houses, Roofs, an Lo-Rise Buildings
This class explains the most common service offered
by contractors in terms of the physical substrate, the
surface, and the typical soils that must be removed.
We examine different substrates and surfaces that
commonly need to be cleaned, the typical soils we
can encounter, the various choices for cleaners, the
most common tools employed, and the techniques for
getting off the job as quickly as possible.
Who should take this class?: Beginners to
experienced contractors who do residential or
commercial work. This is an excellent add-on service
for painters, landscapers, and general PW
contractors.
Why take the class?: This is a 1-day course,
usually 4-6 hours long depending on class size.
Teaches you the
vocabulary terms of the industry, introduces the
chemistry important to getting good results, and
emphasizes how the choice of tools and cleaners
determine profitability (or lack of). This course does
not touch on hi-rise work, which requires extensive
safety equipment. This course does not address
specialty surfaces like limestone and marble. It does
focus on typical house surfaces and typical storefront
surfaces.
