Hope For the Children of Haiti HFC Update

The Hope for the Children of Haiti children have had a very blessed Christmas this year. The week before Christmas they were split into 3 groups and taken out to "shop" for their Christmas gifts. Many of them chose clothing, some chose music CD's and several of the girls chose hair extensions. Christmas Eve was celebrated with a special dinner and party and on Christmas Day probably the best testament to the true spirit of the season was celebrated through the baptism of Alexandra.

The children are enjoying their break from school. For those of you who have had the privilege of seeing Renick's talent in creating movies by using illustration and animation, he is working on his next movie. Many of the children usually participate as character voices and contributing ideas.

Thank you for your support. If you had planned on sending a year-end gift, it is not too late. Gifts post-marked by December 31st, will be tax-deductible for the 2010 tax year. Year-end statements for donors who have given over $250 in 2010 will be sent out in January.

Hoops for Haiti
A special thanks to Kelly Schaff who led the "Hoops for Haiti" which raised $4,000 for HFC. You can see CBS's coverage of the event here.Argusto

Also, our walk-a-thon total has reached over $13,000. A special recognition of Argusto Scheid, an HFC adopted child, who raised $1,545 of that total!

There are so many more who have been giving generously and fundraising with family, co-workers, and friends. Thank you for helping us to keep the needs of Haiti in the hearts and minds of people.

Prayer Requests

·  Prayer for the final election counts and results.

Praise the Lord for being our Fortress, Stronghold and Deliverer and for His protection of all our children. 

·  That God would provide new opportunities to rebuild Haiti for His glory.

·  That Haitians would unite in peace and solidarity of purpose to rebuild Haiti.

·  That gangs would lay down their arms for tools to join the rebuilding.

·   There would be a spiritual awakening in Haiti and among those who are moved to help. 

·   That God would protect and strengthen our missionaries and interns on the ground, Mark and Marsha Romens, Jamie Birney, and Cecelia Osowski.

·   That God would quickly unite the adoptive children of HFC and New Life Link (NLL) with their waiting families. 

·   That the leadership of HFC would be united as they undergo a discernment process regarding our role in rebuilding Haiti and the future of our non-adoptive children.

·   That the Lord would continue to protect our children and secure the buildings from further damage.

·   That Dr. Bernard and Claudette would be strengthened and renewed that they would not grow weary as they deal with this tragedy on the ground.

·   That God would renew His call on each of us and strengthen us to do His work, wherever He calls.
